A very nice song by Linda Ronstadt. I can listen to it over and over again and it never fails to amaze me. This voice and this charisma, great. The band is also great, I especially like Andrew Gold's solo.

Linda became an even better singer in the 80's than the 60-70's. She learned better tonal control and reining in that blaster of a voice. I LUV this song cuz it's a perfect example of her knowing when to unleash and rein in that power. And her vocal purity is hard to top. Compared to someone like Aretha Franklin, Linda still has not gotten the full credit she deserves for her contributions to various genres in music. She is one of those rare artists whose live renditions often surpass the recorded versions. This performance is def a perfect example.

I woke up this morning with this song going around in my head. I cannot imagine how Linda feels now knowing that she can't do this any more when she was so good at it and was so heartbreakingly beautiful at the same time. I am glad that I can still enjoy her now as much as I did throughout her singing career.

@@shihlin1 Andrew wrote the theme song for the TV show "The Golden Girls ("Thank You For Being a Friend"). His mother, Marni Nixon (1930-2016), was the singing voice for actresses Deborah Kerr in "The King and I" (1956), Natalie Wood in "West Side Story" (1961), and Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" (1964).
