A very nice song by Linda Ronstadt. I can listen to it over and over again and it never fails to amaze me. This voice and this charisma, great. The band is also great, I especially like Andrew Gold's solo.

Linda became an even better singer in the 80's than the 60-70's. She learned better tonal control and reining in that blaster of a voice. I LUV this song cuz it's a perfect example of her knowing when to unleash and rein in that power. And her vocal purity is hard to top. Compared to someone like Aretha Franklin, Linda still has not gotten the full credit she deserves for her contributions to various genres in music. She is one of those rare artists whose live renditions often surpass the recorded versions. This performance is def a perfect example.

I woke up this morning with this song going around in my head. I cannot imagine how Linda feels now knowing that she can't do this any more when she was so good at it and was so heartbreakingly beautiful at the same time. I am glad that I can still enjoy her now as much as I did throughout her singing career.

Many thanks! A great performance, very close to the studio recording which many artists can’t capture. Linda Ronstadt is the one person I would have loved to have seen in concert. I’ve seen lots of artists, sorry I missed her!

This tune was delivered with a cool-as-ice-like control by all the musicians. Linda’s “oooooooooohh’s” at the end are just incredible. Of course I have to acknowledge Bob Glaub on bass here, right? His playing is seamless. Beautiful Jimmy Webb song here.

Johnny always liked Linda. That was no lip-synched performance. She sang it live. R.I.P. guitarist Andrew Gold (1951-2011), who died in his sleep of heart failure at age 59.

This live rendition is better than the recorded version. I have the album. She is one of those rare artists whose live performance often surpass the recorded take. Didn't know about Andrew. Great guitarist ! Had a pop hit in '77 with "Lonely Boy".

His mother, Marni Nixon (1930-2016), was the singing voice for actresses Deborah Kerr in "The King and I" (1956), Natalie Wood in "West Side Story" (1961), and Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" (1964). His dad, Ernest Gold (1921-1999), was an Austrian-born composer who won an Academy Award for writing the score of the movie "Exodus" (1960).

Sad to learn of Andrew Gold's passing - he was quite a talent (I remember Lonely Boy - it was a good song! - I'm sure he had many more that were just as good or better, he just didn't catch the breaks that some others did. :( He's no doubt in Rock & Roll (or Pop) Heaven now!! RIP - Linda looking and sounding great- she was smokin' 🔥🔥🔥
