I’ve been sewing for about 53 years now since I learned in 4-H when I was 12. For the first time last week I sewed 2 backs and fronts together. I held them up and they looked like something a bow legged person would wear. Hahaha I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!! Love that pattern

@@garycottinoandchericottino5719 Joy is so 'down to earth' like a friend down the street you could call and say 'stop by for a coffee'. I feel like I know her. She just makes my day!! I don't have that pattern but I am sure I can find one in my 'stash'. When I perfect the fitting of it I will put the video on and 'Sew with Joy'. 🌼

Joy, I always struggled with hems until you showed how to iron in the hem first and then finish off the edges. Now it works out so much easier and the hem lays flat and the steam a seam is a game changer also. For my dress pants I still prefer a hand sewn hem but for casual pants I like sewing machine hem. With your tutorials and Glenda of SFD Im really getting a lot better with my pants making. I’ve actually been reviewing SFD on using my body blue print with store patterns. I love the fabric you got for those pants and they & the top look great on you.

Joy, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos. You answered a lot of questions I had about making pants. You made me smile and giggle with your dancing at the ironing board. You do a great Ironing Board Shuffle! Also I watch Vivmom and I was about to go through her videos for the pants pattern she uses but, you answered that question. I learned about a clapper and how to measure a rise so I can make pants fit. I also learned a new saying, “Hot Forgets, Cool remembers”. Thank you for your video. I also have subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to do your sew along!

I always mark my fabric pieces ( to note the wrong side of the fabric) in the Seam Allowance ~ this way: never a concern for the tool ms marks coming through to the Right side. ( especially important with carbon paper marks!) Loved this pattern!

Hi my friend. When you talked about how you like to iron your hymns on your dresses it reminded me of my sister Joanne wedding dress. My poor mom said every time she looked at Joannes wedding picture she didn’t iron the hem of that dress. So now whenever I look at the picture I see my wonderful sister in her beautiful wedding dress and I hear she didn’t iron him in her dress like I told her to. So yes your mother‘s voice be heard every time you forget to press your clothing. It’s kind of watching you do those beautiful pans.

Dont you love auto correct for your spelling. I see that it has hymn and him instead of the correct spelling, dont iron eather of these it just would not be kind🙁
