I’ve always cooked frozen ground beef this way. I also do a similar recipe but add chopped green pepper after browning the meat before adding the tomato sauce. I serve over rice and sprinkle some grated Romano cheese. Been cooking this recipe for over forty years.

I do that, but don't scrape it until you are ready to flip it again. The heat continues to penetrate and you can end up scraping more, and the scrapings aren't laying on the pan so long.

I’ve cooked 2 packs of BB ground beef by cooking it on medium heat with a lid. I’ve been doing this with frozen ground beef all my years of cooking. It kinda steams it and you just keep chopping it up with a spatula. By the way, ButcherBox ground beef is delicious.

Unless that’s 93/7 beef someone’s gonna have the runs in the morning. I do this all the time with 80/20 and their is soo much fat that it has to be drained at least once DURING the process and when the beef is all browned. I will use light olive oil to replace some of the fat that I’ve drained. Trust me.

Loved my butcher box for the first few months. My last three were thawed and dripping blood all over the package. Was prompted to have the ruined products replaced with future deliveries but they never were. Super sad that the customer service completely undercut the product. Buyer be ware!

I’m waiting several weeks for my replacement box. Not tickled with their brand of customer service where another Butcher Box customer gets a discount for acting like they are an employee and things just get nowhere till the dissatisfied customer just gives up. I’m at about that point.

That was not hot enough to add toasted flavor. Grill marks on a steak show it is hot enough, that was not close to hot enough. A grill mark cast iron pan from Lodge would allow the ground beef to get toasted while draining the fat away from the meat which allows better toasting. Adding an over powering tomato sauce did not flavor the meat, his boiled beef flavored his tomato sauce. I would have cooked it higher temps and longer.
