Thank you, Sonya! And, right now (this time of the year), the sun is coming through at just the right angle to throw rainbows all over my sunroom!! I love it!! All those beads came from Jesse James Beads.

Turned out beautiful! Love to know about the swivel and to wrap the heavy crystal a couple of times. Thanks for being inspiring!
@CraftyHope2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Betty! Neither the swivel nor the triple (?) wrapping are completely necessary, but they felt right to me, so I did it! It was all about the weight of that large crystal.

Love this!! Can you tell me what size crimp beads you used? I have some but they are so tiny they slide right off the fishing line even after I crimp them. I need some heavy duty ones like you have. Thanks.
@CraftyHope2 жыл бұрын
Oh, Penne, I wish I could. I don't use my crimping materials very often so none of it is labeled and is currently just all mixed together. I hate that I can't give you more info than that, but am glad that I inspired you to try it. You may be able to do this technique with whatever beading wire you usually use too. I just like the clear look of the fishing line myself. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions. Hopefully, I can answer those. Sorry about that!

I wonder if a crimp cover would help keeping the crimp in place after you crimp it. Also folding the crimp in may keep it on the line, will have to try this to see the results.

I love your suncatcher but I'm making one for my sister that has pancreatic cancer and I have 1 and a half inch ribbon which is very small. My question is should I put a squish bead at the beginning since the ribbon is so small. Please reply 🙏.
@CraftyHope8 ай бұрын
Joanne, thank you. I'm not really sure how to respond. Since my tutorial is for using fishing line and not ribbon, I'm not really sure how you're making your suncatcher or even getting beads onto the ribbon! With that said, usually the use of ribbon requires a fold-over cord end, and maybe even a strong glue. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions. Here's wishing your sister all the best on this journey.

Oh, thank you so much, Barbara! I have to say that I love this suncatcher more than I thought I would. There are many morning when the sun catches it just right and it throws rainbow prisms all over my sun room. It's glorious!

I love your suncatcher but I made two of them and I don't know where I went Wong but they broke. I don't know how to fix it without it breaking. Could you please help?
@CraftyHope9 ай бұрын
Hi, Joanne! I'm so sorry to hear that your suncatcher is breaking. I'd love to help. I'd like to first know where/how it's breaking. My initial thought is that if it's the fishing line that's "tearing" that maybe you need a stronger fishing line. If it's the crimp tube/bead, you might also try a different one of those. But, let me know where the issue lies and we can see if we can get it to work!

Bonjour Pourriez-vous me dire comment s'appelle cette grosse perle à facettes . Je suis en France. Merci pour ce tuto et ce bon travail. C'est ravissant.
@CraftyHope7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and for the question. I'm afraid that some of the meaning of what you are asking may be lost in the translation. As most of the beads in this suncatcher are just faceted glass and not "pearls", I'm having to guess which bead you mean. I'm going to assume you mean the one at the bottom. I would personally call it a Crystal Teardrop Briolette or side-drilled drop bead. However, I cannot be sure how much of that will translate well. I hope I've helped some. If not, just let me know and I will try again! Wishing you well.

So is there a reason why you don’t use wire for your son catchers?
@CraftyHope Жыл бұрын
Mostly, I just like the illusion of the fishing line. Its translucency makes it almost feel like the beads are hanging there all alone, like magic. Beading wire would likely work just fine too. But, I don't know that I would use regular wire. It might be too stiff. However, if that's all you have - go for it!! Don't let my materials keep you from trying this out. I only have this here as inspiration. Happy creating!
@user-bi8ko7kc6h Жыл бұрын
As long as the cord (doesn’t matter what material you use) is strong enough to hold whatever you wanna put I don’t see the reason why.
