Thanks for sharing. I will be installing an additional four lights in my shop next week. I opted for eight foot long lights as I have 10' work benches. It is crazy how long I have gone without the extra light as it is super dim in my shop. Looking forward to getting some better lighting.

The 8 footers will be nice! I need to add some additional lights in the front and back due to some dark spots, and I may just replace all off them with 8 footers. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👊🏻

Hey also just curious what is the name of that backwoods country songs you have playing in the background? I like that. Would mind using that as my background music for a picture collection video I’m making for my moms Appalachian family. We have a family reunion next year.

@@gregglouis2969 Thank you! It’s called “dark Outlands” by river foxcraft

Looks great... Does cutting the plug off and hardwiring to romex meet Electrical Codes ? I have actually seen some install 15 amp receptacles in Basements etc to just plug them in which does not sound like it would meet code... Thank You
@brewbuilds11 ай бұрын
There is no issue with hardwiring them. Aside from voiding any type of factory warranty on the light. I don’t like the look of every light being plugged in. You can also link 3 or 4 lights together eliminating some receptacles, but I don’t like the look of the additional exposed cord ran to the lights either. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

How do you connect the hard wires together and what do I do with the ground wire that comes from the existing hardwire from the wall
@brewbuilds3 жыл бұрын
Just wire nuts, and I folded the ground back and tapped it up in case I ever replaced these lights with something that required it.

We swapped out the CFLs to LED of the correct color temp for a shop and what a difference.

Yeah good lighting makes a huge difference in the shop.

I like how you used the zip ties to keep the cord out of sight. I dislike seeing cords so I will be copying you on that

I can’t stand seeing the cords either. Glad you liked it. 👊🏻

@@brewbuilds I have installed 4 of these . What size is the shop ?
@brewbuilds2 жыл бұрын
My shop is 30x40. I’ll be adding a few more over the front (garage door end) and the back (the miter station end).

How many can you link together?

You can link up to 4 if I remember correctly.

Great short video showing step by step and not a 45 minute long video that doesn't teach you anything
@brewbuilds4 жыл бұрын
Thanks you, and I’m glad it made some sort of sense! It’s really hard to shoot a video and explain all the important stuff without making it long, but also not cut it down to nothing.😂😂 I’m really working on finding a happy medium. Thanks for your comment and you are always welcome to reach out via email with any questions!👍🏻

No explanation of what all the parts were you were doing. This is not a video for a person who has never put up lights before. I’m now more confused then before I watched your video

Did you not have the sound on?
@Cornuts10003 жыл бұрын
@@brewbuilds My error. Sorry. You must be an electrician though. I wanted to do the exact same thing but my garage ceiling isn't finished and just wanted to hang the lights but I need to hire an electrician to hard wire them. This is something I wouldn't dare try to do.
@brewbuilds3 жыл бұрын
No worries man. I’m in the electrical field, I build and maintain high voltage substations. If your ceiling is still open that makes it a lot easier. I wouldn’t let it intimidate you to much there’s really not a whole lot to it.👍🏻
