Please don't let some random internet twit ruin your day, I have watched many, many brewing videos before I started and you were a solid source of information at all levels, plus your videos don't suck or push a certain method. Thanks for all you do.

This is how a lot of people start with brewing. Craig has done wonders with his videos. He is an avid homebrewer and has videos on all-grain as well. Why bother even make a comment like that. Go bake your cake and leave the beer making to the adults.

i remember i watched this movie 3 years ago. Started with all-grain, failed hard. DId start with the kits, was so happy. Now 3 years later Iam pretty much only doing all-grain, but who cares. I love brewing, I love drinking a good beer, and I love everything about brewing. Do whats best for you, start with the kits, build your way up. Or just stay with the kits, if you like them, the choice is yours. Thanks again Craig, much love from Norway. Happy brewing EVERYone :) Cheers!

ordered my kit a few days ago and have been watching tons of these instructional video, this one is perfect! It is slow, yet nicely paced and entertaining. Rather than simply stating the steps, it is very helpful how you give a few reasons as to why the step is done. The beer looks perfect by the end of the video. Can't wait to share that same feeling of accomplishment.

Great video Craig, should help everyone take the leap into brewing their own beer. Down with store bought. I too use tap water but I live in the country so it comes from the well and is really clean. It tastes better than bottled water. Keep up the great work Craig. Cheers

Great update and thats exactly how I made my first Brew! The only thing different was that I used 500g spray malt and the brew enhancer rather than the 300g corn sugar. Three brews under my belt now and next time going to step some specialty grains. To anyone who has yet to start Craig's spot on its a fun hobby and you will never settle for cheep store bought beer... unless you want the bottles that is.

Hey Craig great video thanks! My friends and I have just brewed our first batches. We made 2 with pre-mixed worts from the local brew store, one American Pale Ale and one British Pale Ale. We also made a third, a Summer Blonde using a can similar to the Coopers one in this video. Bottled the Ales today to take camping mid November. Love your videos and I'm really enjoying brewing my own beer. Thanks for the helpful tips from Melbourne, Australia!!

Thanks Craig. I've been brewing off and on for about 20 years but it was good to check to see if I might pick up any hints and tips from what you do. Pleasing to see that I do almost exactly what you do other than I've never added extra corn sugar. Good idea, will have to try this. Always wondered why my home brew never quite gave me the kick that commercial beer did. So satisfying to do it yourself though don't you think?

Good idea on the back to basics video man. I've been trying to keep my videos somple so everyone can get something out of them. and it all started with you going on 3 years ago. I've gone from kit-n-kilo like this vid to partial boil partial mash biab. I still use my Cooper's Microbrew fermenter too. it has an IPA of my own recipe in it,just past initial fermentation. trying to get a worthy beer going to send you. These new genration IPA's look god. I'm picky that way...

The coopers kits are for 5 gallon batches, I would divide the ingredients up to the amount of a Mr Beer kit including sugar(not sure what the capacity of a Mr Beer fermenter is off the top of my head), and all should be fine. You could then keep what is left over in the fridge for a while and will be good for the next batch. Good luck

hi craig it could be a betty crocker beer but I tried a coopers ipa that you always do I have and the box like you used in the video but also added 1lb dme pitched 2 yeast packs didn't have any hops for flavor or aroma wish I did because it use a kicker strong alcohol so now I brew using kits that comes with every ingredient until I got things down to a science thanks for all your videos and I will keep on brewing

Hello Craig, Just like to say thanks for posting the great videos on beer brewing. I have just bottles my first brew made with the new Coopers Kit. I have made the decision to enter the kegging sphere and bought a kegerator along with two 19 litre S/Steel kegs in which to put my second brew, a Muntons connoisseur Yorkshire bitter. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I find it great that you seem to like the Coopers kits as I live in Adelaide, South Australia where these kits are made by the Coopers Brewery. I don't know if you can get the Coopers beers in the USA but if you can I suggest you try their Sparkling Ale or Pale Ale - nectar of the gods for a commercial beer. All the best, Peter Clarke.

Craig, thanks for all the info... I made my first time 5 gal batch with hops. Turns out I fermented it in the bucket with the spout valve verses fermentation bucket. Had to transfer and then siphon to bottles. Question, how is it done to bottle from fermentation bucket with valve on and not get any of the yeast settlement to follow? I only see one way of doing this and one step deal, mine was to be a step deal. Thanks.

I've done batches with both spring and tap water. Here in my area of Australia (NSW) our tap water is very decent for brewing. And just as a note, I found brewing with spring water actually turned out fairly flat and lifeless, so it's tap water for me. I'd imagine distilled water would be worse - I have a feeling the yeast need the minerals found in 'harder' water to do their thing.
