Love your videos! Any reason you use corn oil over other vegetable oils?
@PopcornGenius Жыл бұрын
Thank you! That's a great question, we've never really thought of using other vegetable oils. We have always used either butter coconut oil or corn oil. I'm sure other vegetable oils would work just as good as smoke points for vegetable oils are very similar. Thank you for the comment and for all your support!!!

What’s the cleaning process like?
@PopcornGenius Жыл бұрын
Great question! There are cleaning supplies you can buy to clean your kettle and we use those for a deep clean. Typically we use a soapy water solution and heat up the kettle. We will post a video soon on cleaning one of these. Thank you for watching!

@@PopcornGenius yay! Ok I will be looking out for the new video. Do you clean after every batch? Why do you like corn oil?
@PopcornGenius Жыл бұрын
@@joibilee We don't always clean after every batch. If we are doing multiple flavors in one popping session we try to go from light color to dark so we don't have to clean after each batch. For example, we would pop our seasoned corn first which doesn't require anything added to the kettle besides oil and popcorn and then move toward glaze pop type flavors. Another example is popping regular kettle corn first and then a flavored corn like this green apple. If the colors/flavors will mix and it's not appropriate, we then do a quick wipe out clean or wash if required. We use the corn oil for glaze pop and kettle corn, but use butter coconut oil for seasoned corn. The reason being is the corn oil doesn't add any additional flavor to the corn like butter coconut oil does. But if that is the goal, then we would recommend butter coconut oil. Some say using butter coconut oil to make kettle corn is terrific! We haven't tried that yet but planning to soon. Great questions! Thank you!!

How is the clean up? Any tips?
@PopcornGenius9 ай бұрын
Clean up isn’t too bad. The fastest way is to put water in the kettle and heat it. Then add a piece of paper towel and turn on the motor. Run it like that for a little while with the lid closed and it will basically steam it clean. Dump the water out in a heat proof bowl. Wear oven mitts because it will be hot. Then wipe it all down. A little dish soap goes a long way too but be sure to rinse well afterwards. Hopefully that helps!! Thank you so much for watching!!

How long can the popcorn go without going stale?
@PopcornGenius Жыл бұрын
Great question. It really depends on the packaging you have and the environment (like humidity is a factor). In a sealable bag, 2-3 weeks. In a regular bag about 1 week. Thank you for watching!!
