hi gigie! ..it's because the color of the layer is black... so if you change your layer to red, the mat will be red as well.. hope that helps :)

What would you do if you wanted to keep the blue and not all black?

hi danielle, i would choose all the layers in black, then click attach.. then choose all the layers in blue, then click attach.. what this means is that these 2 colors will cut on 2 different mats.. then you would weed the vinyl, and then layer the vinyl to your project.. hope that helps😊💕
