I made Jerk wings this week too. I used Walkerswood Hot & Spicy jerk marinade, olive oil, Badia Jerk rub, scotch bonnet hot sauce, and some vinegar. I basted them with a mix of the marinade, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and some more hot sauce. I grilled them on the sns kettle.

Wow that is a lot going on there! These I made didn't lack for flavor at all by just using the Walkerswood but I can see where adding olive oil would help distribute the marinade better by thinning it out a bit. There was all the flavor you could want and a nice heat level. Thanks for watching!

I use that same marinade and it’s great!! That company also makes a rub that I’ve used on steak, chicken, shrimp…etc. I have even used it on burgers.

It's got a spicy bite for sure, but it doesn't last long I noticed. Some folks may want to opt in for the original which isn't as spicy, but we like it spicy down here. Thanks for watching!

Been using that brand for yrs.The thick concentrated jars like you have can be watered down some to cover more meat especially if your brushing on and little easier to apply

Yeah, I was actually thinking that very thing. It's very thick and thinning it down with water or olive oil would definitely help, and prevent clumping. Thanks for the tip and for watching!

Hey Russ,I've been using that marinade for years! it comes in mild medium and hot!so be careful what you order, by the way, you have to try this on ribs(medium) low and slow, marinate just like you did, then on the smoker,takes about 4 hours(wrap in paper last hour) you are gonna love them!~~Charlie

Russ once again you cooked up a Storm in my Daddy Words! We have something in common I use that same Jamaican mernade. I found out thinning it out with a little oil makes it spread easier on with food you are cooking
@SmokyRibsBBQ

Hey James, I was actually thinking that very thing while using this marinade. It's a bit thick so thinning it out a bit with olive oil or even water would help distribute it better, but it is also great as is. Thanks for checking it out.

Nice video. I second the "just get a bottle off the shelf" of the Jerk Marinade. As you say getting all the ingredients for a clone recipe can be troublesome and expensive. I used to be into creating clones of seasonings, marinades, rubs. Not so much any more. Buy what you like, doctor it up if need be. Be done. Them wings looked delicious. I appreciate you showing 190° or more is good a temperature for tender wings. I didn't know this 30 years ago. I was always afraid to go beyond 170° for meats for fear of having dry meat. Ain't the internet great?

These look extremely delicious! I'm actually having a blast from the past watching you make these wings. I remember almost 7 years ago now I requested some Jamaican jerk shrimp. You weren't able to do it because you could procure the needed materials for the video. Instead you did the Korea BBQ ribs, which were pretty delicious. At one point in the video, you mentioned that you had some extra Jamaican sauce. Do you think you could give the Jamican jerk shrimp a shot? I'd love to see how you do them. Also, I'm having an end of the semester party at my house and I've been wondering what I should cook. Any ideas? it will probably take place the first or second week of May.

@@SmokyRibsBBQ Ah, yes, I misunderstood what you said. I interpreted the "3 to a pack" statement as "i bought a pack that came with 3 and I have used one, thus i have 2 remaining." It's also nice to be commenting again on your channel. I've just been busy with real life. I've been focusing almost exclusively on college and work. I haven't had a lot of time to watch your videos but I did have time for this one. Mississippi is really a beautiful state. I can say that I don't miss California all that much.
