You're so right about creating with limited supplies - it does push our creativity. It's also so rewarding to work with what we've chosen to use up. That said, if you'd not mentioned it, I'd never have known because you are as artistic, creative and inspiring as always. Hope you've enjoyed a wonderful vacation, and I for one, am so glad you film while away 🥰 Safe travels home and look forward to your play when you have access to ALL your wonderful toys. 🧶🧵🎨💜💙💚💛💖Warmly, Nelusha

Hi Julia what a fabulous tutorial thank you so much. It just proves the point that you don’t need tons of supplies to create gorgeous projects, I think it really focuses the creative juices. Thank you for sharing your dragon fly with us all, it is so generous of you. I hope the weather is kind, we are still battling some storms and an awful lot of rain here. I will be certainly following your tutorial to make some journals to sell at Catherine’s school fair later in the year, I am sure they will be popular and raise some funds for her school. Julia I always look forward to your vlogs, you are definitely my favourite. Send you all my love and big hugs xxxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻❤️😘🌟

Hi Dorothy, Your comments always brighten my day. Our vacation days are dwindling and I am starting to pack up my sewing area. It has been good to create with only limited supplies. I brought things that I have had in my stash for years. It was good to use them up! I am sending sunny thoughts your way. You've really had a cold, wet season. My daughter lives in Tennessee and they too have had a wet, cold winter. She is so ready for spring! Have fun with those sweet Granddaughters of yours. Thanks for watching! Julia

Julia, these are beautiful and look easy for a beginner! When you said working with limited supplies makes you more creative, I agree, sometimes I want to create something but I have so much stuff , It gets overwhelming and I end up not doing anything:( Thanks for that perspective. Hugs,Judy
@stitchesbyjulia4 жыл бұрын
So true! Limiting the "stuff" you use really pushes creativity. Sometimes I take a laundry basket and go thru my supplies. That's what I work with for the week. It's fun and helps with those forgotten supplies. Happy creating, Julia

I have a question Julia. I purchased some duck cloth at Walmart and was wondering if you recommend washing it. It does seem to have a peculiar scent. I'm just wondering if the cloth will get super wrinkly. Thanks Julia.

Julia, what brand of sewing machine do you have? I want something not to extravagant but I can raise and lower the feeddogs easily. I deserve a new one.
@stitchesbyjulia4 жыл бұрын
Hi Evelyn, I have a Memory Craft Janome. Mine is a top if the line that I got 10+ years ago. Here is a medium priced Janome that has good reviews. It has a lever to drop the feed dogs. It looks like the quilting foot is sold separately. Many machines in this price range will have feed dogs that drop by a lever. Good luck! Free motion stitching is fun and addicting!amzn.to/2UjYhYY

Hi Julia! Trying to see if you are sewing over a double layer of fabric as the initial folding seems to suggest? If so does that mean that one flap has a folded edge and the other a raw edge? It may be that you folded it to iron both journal fabrics together to mark the shape and then cut down the fold. Anyone out there help me please!
@stitchesbyjulia4 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie, I am so sorry for the confusion. I am not sewing over the double layer of fabric when I sew the design. I always fold the cover before I lay the design in place to help with the placement. I hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have. Julia
