No offense but information would have been much more helpful than the endless silly song. Things like what size drill bit you used for the cable guide holes? What diameter are the cable guides? How did you magically get the cable guides to come out the holes that you drilled at the other ends when they are flexible and there's no way to reach in? You know, stuff that can make all the difference...

It’s all actually part of the rudder kit.

Thanks! I actually can't remember the size tubing. It typically comes with the rudder package, but most Lowes or Home Depot carry it too. :-)

Awesome video! i have the same kayak and wanted to get one of the rudders. Do you feel they make a difference if you dont have a motor and just using paddles?

Definitely makes a difference, especially if you are trying to control the direction of your drift in wind or current. :-)

I have the same kayak. Do you have to use the rudder system made specifically for this yak or can you get away with another rudder? Just have a hard time justifying $300 for a rudder.

There are a few cheaper generic options, but I have not tried them on this model yet, so I'm not sure how well them will work.. :-)

It’s a standard Johnson Outdoors/Ocean Kayak/Old Town rudder. You can get them from a local dealer or online.

HELP!!! I was doing great until the end which doesn't show the cord placement through the rudder holder and the rudder. Anyone?
