You might want to mention to buy a light fabric, like challis, voile, silky prints, and similar fabrics; medium to heavy fabrics won't drape right, and you can't use a heavier fabric like brocades unless you get some structure into the garment with facings and a lining or underlayment .

You may want to mention that this works best with an all over print, and a drapey, lightweight fabric. A one way print will not work with this method, unless you are cool with the print running different ways in the front and back.

Anyone wondering about the sleeve length, the creator said it’s 30cm by 30cm, or 50cm by 30cm if you want longer sleeves. However, lots of commenters had issues with the neckline… the creator said she was going to make a video explaining it, but apparently no video has been created since. Just FYI before you start this project!

Hello there! The neck area is definitely a little bit tricky. I’m making an update on this video and will show a close up of that part. The Polkadotter Hi, yes I was also wondering about the neck! Did you just cut straight up the front of the fabric and have it just hang around the neck?! I’m quite confused now about how this is done and for it to look as nice as yours does!! Have you made the other video yet to show us how the neck is done in more detail please? I hope so as I found this video very good to follow apart from the neck part😕I really want to make myself a couple of these but don’t want to start until I know exactly how to do it properly. Hello! I love the tutorial, it was very helpful and easy to understand. I do have a question about the step after you cut the sleeves. To sew the edges together, do you open up the fabric and sew both edges under the sleeves separately? Or do you sew it all together while it's still folded? It seems to me we would have to open and then sew two times. In the video and tutorial though it looked like you only did it once?
@thepolkadotter
@thepolkadotter 5 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Yes, you have to unfold the fabric and sew the sleeves together, sewing only two layers of fabric and then do it whith the other sleeve. I hope I could help you :)

This is great! But I’m only sewing that quarter of the sleeves once and both sides will be stitched?
@thepolkadotter
@thepolkadotter 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! You have to sew the sleeves one at the time, otherwise you’ll stitch the 4 layers together. Hope I could help 😘❤️

Hello! How did you hem the top of the neckline where the fabric meets? I attempted this last night and my fabric got all puckered. Are there extra snips to make? Thanks!
@thepolkadotter
@thepolkadotter 6 жыл бұрын
hey! That's a very good question, you'll need to have extra careful hemming this area cause the fabric will naturally pucker a bit! Just do it slowly, sew it by hand first if necessary and I'm sure you'll be able to make it! I'm making a fresh version of this video where I explain it better :)
