I love your works of Van Gogh! Thanks for sharing! I am half-way through the original size of the "Wheat Field with Cypresses" from 1889. The one that is in "The MET". He painted three of them that year and I prefer the one that is at The MET. I would love to see your take on it. Size: 28-7/8 in × 36-3/4 in. Hint: He painted this painting on an un-toned canvas. Directly on top of the canvas without any gouache under-layer. That is why it has that unique gray/tan under painting look to it. I believe he didn't do this very often (using unprepared canvases). Hi, thanks for the comment! I should clarify a few points - I'm showing how to male paintins that are simple enough that an inspired beginner can repeat them and be happy with the result. Of course, Van Gogh painted many artworks with underpainting rather than imprimatura, but again, making a high-quality underpainting requires a little more practice, and imprimatura is more understandable for a beginner. I think I'll show you how to do this in the next video. P.S. This is not gouache, I use oil paints and solvents. By the way, I really liked your watercolors! Thanks again!

Sorry if I misled you about the gouache usage. I meant that the canvas wasn't prepped with gouache like the ones we typically buy from the store nowadays. In this particular painting, the artist applied oil directly onto the bare canvas without any preparation. This has been documented. Your simple approach is perfect for both beginners and experienced artists. Your brush strokes and philosophy on paint application are spot on and exactly resemble Van Gogh's technique! Hello. The easiest way is to check the list of topics at the link, there are also screenshots from the course alex-teal.systeme.io He is not aimed at any particular style or the creation of one particular picture; it seems to me that this would be counterproductive. The course is aimed at enabling you to draw any subject in any style. For example, 80% of students hold the palette in their hand incorrectly and their hand gets tired. Or, for example, we will figure out how NOT to buy bad paint in a store, even if it is expensive. Or why we use different mediums for the first layer and subsequent layers. Don't hesitate to ask.
