Easy Macrame Owl Wall Hanging Tutorial

This macrame owl wall hanging pattern is so cute and easy enough for beginners & beyond!
I'll show you how to make this fun DIY wall decor project in this free pattern and tutorial!
SUPPLIES YOU'LL NEED //
▶︎ 3mm cotton rope (3 ply) in the following lengths: bit.ly/2MGdIGU
- 8 pieces @ 94" long
- 1 piece @ 106" long
- 22 pieces @ 5" long
- 2 pieces @ 20" long
▶︎ 1/2" wooden dowel (I used one that's 12" long, but you just need one that's at least 5" long)
▶︎ 2 metal key rings: amzn.to/3we0PvL (mine were 1 3/16" in diameter)
▶︎ 2 wooden beads with a hole large enough for your cord: amzn.to/3we0MQB (mine were 1/2" in diameter)
▶︎ short stick for perch (mine was 8" long but it just needs to be at least 3" long)
▶︎ sharp scissors: amzn.to/3MVvXpP
▶︎ comb for fringe
▶︎ stiffening spray: amzn.to/3qcbhA2 or hairspray (optional)

This owl is perfect, I've been looking for a couple weeks to come up with a design I really liked for an upcoming birthday present, and your work is beautiful. But I am slightly confused. That cord looks MUCH thicker than 3mm. At first I thought maybe you were using larger cord for the video or were zoomed in close and it just looked really thick. But when you threaded it into the bead with the 8mm hole, it was a tight enough fit to hold the bead in place. Which leads me to believe it was 6 - 8 mm. So I guess my question is, did you make a typo in the instructions, or have I forgotten how to math?

No it’s correct- I’m not sure if it’s an 8mm bead, they were about 1/2” or maybe a smidge bigger and the hole was a bit larger than the cord, but kind of rough on the inside so they stayed in place easily. Good luck!
