NOTE ON CORD LENGTHS: I just went in and retested this pattern and made the starting cord lengths shorter- I updated it to the proper lengths in the description so you shouldn't have any wasted cord now. I'm SO SO SORRY about that!!! 😓Thank you!

Back in the day (late 60’s and 70’s) I did a lot of macrame with friends and made a huge plant hanging for my boyfriend that included a round glass table. It took me months! Now here I am 50 years later thinking hmmm, I should make a few simple plant hangers and found you. I’ve forgotten everything I ever knew and as a visual learner, this is a perfect video!! Thank you for sharing. I’ve subscribed & found your blog. Well done!!! 😊

Thankyou so much!! I made this today it only took 30 or so minutes! My first time doing macrame and I think I've got a new hobby now 😂. I can't stop saying to my boyfriend how impressed I am with it! Instead of just 2 rows of knots I did 3 , and I like how it looks, like a diamond 😊◇ thanks again! I'll be making more 😍

This was an excellent tutorial. My 15 yr old daughter and I just made it! We had only 1 hiccup. We used 5mm instead of 3mm cord and what happened was after the top swirl/twist and tie off, all the cords were not the same length. So when you said to start the next part, we were like...which ones....but thankfully my brain was functioning properly and we undid the top a bit (undid 9) until all the cords were even on the bottom and so we ended up with less than 25 in the twist. But it came out perfect after that adjustment. Love it! Thank you!💞

I did it! I can’t believe I was able to! I used jute so it was a bit hairier… but worked out well. First project like this. Thank you for the tutorial!! I did end up slowing down the video to .5 speed for the knots.. that helped a ton 😊

I used this technique to replace a hanger on a drying rack that broke under the weight of wet clothes. (Cheap junk, but I didn't want to buy even more plastic!). Thanks for the tutorial. After I was making the knots, I realized, I used the same technique years ago to wrap my headphone cords so they wouldn't crimp or break. LOL at relearning old things. You also conjured some memories of my crafty grandmother. Thanks for the video lesson!

Great tutorial! Thank you! I did have ALOT of excess at the end. However I don't know if my cordage was smaller than 3mm (I ordered that but it varies sometimes) I used, for the inner cords, 80inches. And for the outer cords 140inches and it turned out almost the perfect length!

Wow, this is great, thank you! ♥️❤❤ My 2 newest hobbies are knitting and macrame and I recently bought a 100 piece/5 size variety pack of rings on Amazon for a really GREAT PRICE (UNDER $8!!!! if you're interested) and it includes 10 rings in the size you recommend to make this. They are really good/sturdy rings so I'm all set! 👍😊 I think I want to make a double plant hanger. I recently bought a battery Ring Standing camera and I want to hang it in a plant hanger at my kitchen floor-to-ceiling window to alert me when the deer are foraging in my yard. I think it would be nice to disguise it with an ivy hanging beneath it and wrapping around it. I think I can make the double hanger with your instructions. I'll just have to increase (maybe even double) the amount of rope so the part that you use as fringe will be long enough to repeat the process and then have fringe. I've never done this so it will definitely be trial and error but I thank you very much for my inspiration to try this and for sharing this lovely tutorial!🙏👍😊 I'll come back and let you know if I'm successful with the "double decker". 😃
