In this video I show how I set up an easy five rod trolling spread for Mahi Mahi. I have a small 19' boat with no outriggers. Using outrodders and spacing my rods correctly I'm able to effectively troll five rods. A shotgun way back, two out wide on the outrodders, a deep diving plug, and a flat line placed right behind my umbrella rig with holographic teasers. This day was very cold for Southeast Florida on the Treasure Coast. The winter Mahi run was good for the previous several days. We left out of St Lucie Inlet knowing we only had several hours before a front hit. The first bait out was crushed right away and constant action followed for several hours.
In this video we fished ILander lures over Ballyhoo, Honu lures Jet head and bullet head style, Sea witch over Ballyhoo, and Rapala deep diver plugs. We caught Kingfish, Bonito, and finally found the Dolphin fish Mahi Mahi.
Gear used was Shimano TLD 25's on Ocean master trolling rods. Shimano TLD 50 2 speed on a customer rod at the shotgun, and Shimano Speedmaster on a Star Paraflex rod.
