Those are fun fish to catch. The red snapper is one when we went out of Ft. Lauderdale I would catch. Usually a set up with a sinker on but with 1 to 3 hooks ripped with squid. They were a blast when you had multiple on. They are great tasting as well. Wish we could have got a glimpse of the shark.
@CProFishingWithWayne4 жыл бұрын
The Reds and really tough fighters, but not as smart as the Mutton. They do taste amazing. Yeah sucks the Shark was right there and didn’t get the footage. Appreciate it buddy.

I use sinker slides too. Oh, what a heart breaker! I guess if it was a shark you didn't want it in the boat with you anyway, huh? Time to clean em up and take em home to cook! Ah, just read the description. That's why you have such long leaders. I was wondering.

What depth range do you find the mutton’s in, just got my first boat that I can run offshore would love to catch some. I’ve been going out of ft pierce inlet. I’ve been watching and catching up on all your videos love the channel
@CProFishingWithWayne Жыл бұрын
I haven't fished Fort Pierce but off Stuart/Jensen I target them in 70'-190'. Depth usually depends on finding the perfect current range. The trick is to find spots in sandy areas near reef and wrecks. I appreciate the support and will be starting up new videos shortly.
@frankwyndham60264 жыл бұрын
First of all, love your videos. Second, looks like the speedmaster and the star setup works pretty well. Third, I'm heading to the keys the first week in July and I would like to target some muttons this year and I haven't ever done that before. Any tips on where to start would be appreciated. Water depth, fast or slow current, can i get away with 20 or 25 foot leader,etc.? The trolling motor changed my life -never anchor up anymore. Thanks ahead for any advice
@CProFishingWithWayne4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Frank I greatly appreciate it. The keys is a bit different from where I am and I’m not sure about depth down there. I know they do catch larger ones close to shore and bridges also though. I do know with their gin clear water that the long leader is even more important. You’re correct the spot lock is a game changer and saves your back 😁.
@frankwyndham60264 жыл бұрын
@@CProFishingWithWayne Thanks for the response I'm playing with detachable weights and loops at home now. Love trying new water and new species so we'll see. Love that you do a lot of solo stuff. As i get older It's harder to do it by myself but it seems more rewarding some time when you do.
@FloridaFishingCouple4 жыл бұрын
Frank Wyndham: We do use longer leader here in the Keys. Usually 40-50 feet of 30LB flourocarbon leader, whole ballyhoo for bait and a detachable weight using a balloon clip weight system. If you want I can send you the link. - Capt Dan

Great day of fishing and catching Wayne! I tried to reply back to your email recently but it did not get through to you for some reason. One trick we use here in the Keys is a detachable weight system so you don’t have to hand line the fish in by the leader. It allows you to detach the weight quickly and continue to fight the fish all the way to the boat. Here is the link if you want to check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3fIhWSsadWlhtU Tight lines brother! Another Great video and a great day on the water. - Capt Dan
