Fading Steps:
Trim top to desired length
- Set in guideline with 0 lever closed
- lever open set in next guideline
- 1 guard lever open next guideline
- 2 & 3 guard blend up
- Blend out top guideline w/ 1.5 guard open to 3 qtr
- Blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
- Continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard open to 3 qtr
- Blend first guideline w lever open a bit, then halfway, then 3/4, then all the way.
- Do any touch up work
- Use trimmers to take out bottom hair
- Use electric shaver
- Do any line up with trimmers
- Shave with straight razor

Quick question… When the guidelines are set and you’re starting out the lines from top to bottom.. You’re knocking out the first line with the 1.5 guard then onto the .5 guard leaving the faint line to knock out with the 1 guard. Could you use the 1 guard after the 1.5 to clear out that line first then come with the .5 guard? Pretty much switchin the steps? Didn’t know if there was a specific reason why you do it this way.?
