Unfortunately, it's not illegal to sell finished crochet items from your pattern. It is, however, illegal to sell your pattern. Crocheted squares are pretty standard. You can use the same full size pattern and just use crochet thread and a lace hook. Please do your research. Copy rights are only on the pattern and not the finished object. Unless, of course, it's a Disney character, etc.

Hi - thank you so much! Unfortunately I live in New Zealand and I buy mine at local craft stores in my area - I've never actually bought them online and also can't speak to the availability in the states. Although I have seen people on instagram suggest that you might be able to find them on Amazon maybe? I'd recommend looking up "Gütermann's Top Stitch thread" and seeing whether you can get it from overseas if Amazon is a deadend. Sorry I can't be of more help! Goodluck! ❤️

Did you mention the size of your jump rings? For another change you could hang corner to corner of the square to make a diamond shape.😊

I get mine at a local craft store but they should be pretty easy to find online! The brand I use is Pony but there are a few other well known brands too 😊

Sometimes it depends on tension. My mom and I can make the same pattern but hers will be smaller cause she has a tighter tension while crocheting than me.
