What happens as a result is just fantastic! I'm very glad I found your channel. I'm interested in architecture, namely parametric architecture. I will definitely watch all the videos on this topic. Thank You!🤩

Finaly understood this, thank's for the hard work! Is there a way to make empty spaces in the middle of the building?
@UHStudio3 ай бұрын
yes, you can have another set of raycasting happening the removes points in the middle with another sets of shapes, or scaled versions of the existing shapes.

Geometry nodes have so much potential for generating cities, buildings and landscapes!

Yes they do! Excited about how far the system will be taken by the Blender team and the community!

Thanks for this one but also all the other tutorials. Sometimes I get lost at the moment you use shortcuts. Would be great to see the pressed keys on the screen in a little letters somewhere in the corner.

I typically have them, but since this was a more geometry nodes tutorial than a 3d modelling tutorial, I decided to leave them off. WIll make sure to have them on next time. Cheers

um , i did everything and trying to understand each node but somehow i came across that the instance point desnt follow the object faces , it just went haywire and making it cube still . any idea?
@UHStudio12 күн бұрын
are your normals facing the right way for your bounding object? What about the normals of the raycast node? Sometimes you have to flip the normals direction.

How can I access to the different part of the instantation, and tell this that I want the modules be different in each part? Like corners, and Roof, floor?
@UHStudio Жыл бұрын
That's quite a bit more complex. It wasn't possible when I released this video but it may be possible now by comparing the number of neighbours to any given 3d grid point and separating the geometry based on that comparison. The next challenge would be how to orient the edges so they respect the correct orientation.

Hi, do you thing there is a better way to select the points inside the volume than raycasting ? You can't make inversed pyramid this way for exemple. I think of a boolean interesection ?
@UHStudio7 ай бұрын
You can always do booleans but everything would be much slower. For an inverted pyramid, you can raycast with negative Z vectors

what is better suited for architects, geometry node or Sverchok

Geometry Nodes. See my other answer for better explanation :)

Did I miss something? my points don't show up when raycasting it. how did u get there if there's no object info for the cube?
@gertduvenhage28222 ай бұрын
I had the same issue at one stage, try to go into edit mode for your initial cube, abd then increase the scale by maybe about 20 and then you can start to see the points
@pandumuhtadin25162 ай бұрын
Oh I got it, mine is just a plane instead in the form of a cube. thank's bud

@@dollysharma4903 are your modules rotated the same way as shown in the video?
@dollysharma4903 Жыл бұрын
@@UHStudio everything is done the same way as you, maybe it's the version?
@UHStudio Жыл бұрын
The version shouldn't have changed anything as, it's maths that determines the rotation of the different modules. Perhaps your base model and grid is rotated 90° to what I am showing in the video?
