I thank you for your kind comment. The setup is pretty OK for me, three jigging machines and boxes for a total of 3500 kg. But only a handful of times that amount has been the reality after a day of jigging!

Longline... It is possible.... But high operating costs..... Easier to jig, only cost is diesel and food and to replace hooks now and then...

In Norway, most of these small vessels have a one-person setup. So best bet is to buy own boat. Any EU-inhabitant may freely, after applying, start up fishing business in Northern Norway.

Everyone are automatically included in the Open Group. There you will have limited quota of cod and free fishing on all other species. In you choose to buy a cod quota you will be better off as this quota is higher than in the Open Group.
