I recently started using a cheese grater to tear up my cakes, just to get more of a even sized flakes, works really well!
@BigMush90004 ай бұрын
Yeah? I'm gonna try it! Great solution, mate.

What size?! Like just a regular sized one?
@AntMan-hh1mi4 ай бұрын
Yeh, regular size grater, i use brown rice flour and verm with some gypsum, the grater gives good sizing.

Looks good, I shall pressure cook substrate rather than pasteurise, had contam too much, thank you
@BigMush90004 ай бұрын
Yeah, contam is heartbreaking right? Even though coir is non nutritious, stuff can still get into it if it isn't stored correctly. I believe mice or rats got into my coir.....culture and spawn were clean...soon as I mixed it with that coir all sorts of horrors made themselves known. Good luck with your next grow; I'm very keen to hear if you're successful. Keep me posted.

Can't argue with your crop.I would have added some wheat germ or brown rice flour for nutrition.But why take the extra contam risk if it works without them.I also find laying a gladbag liner in the box helps with side pins and makes for easier reuse.Are those Shitakes or P Cubensis?
@BigMush900023 күн бұрын
@robertorobertini6221 these are cubes my man! Yes, I shy away from adding extra nutrition where I can. The spawn used in the video was wholegrain rice, pleeennntttyyyy of nutrition there. With side pins, I usually just remove the cake and chuck it in the terrarium. I try to minimise the amount of plastic I use where possible. Chucking out loads mushroomy liners can sometimes attract unwanted attention

What kind of temperatures are you fruiting with.I live in Cairns Qld and it's rarely below 20c and often above 30 part of the year.AC ain't cheap anymore.
@BigMush900021 күн бұрын
@robertorobertini6221 yeah mate, I'm from Perth Originally. I understand the struggle with temps. I try and fruit around 20c. It works best for me, but you can fruit up to about 25c with no real issues
