I like them both ways, but I think the round over is my fav. Thank you for video.

Thanks I always appreciate the feedback. I do think I prefer the chamfered ones but saying that the round over ones do sit nice in the hand 👍🏻

Hello sir! I just found your channel and I'm enjoying it. I am just starting to make some bottle openers like this also. I plan to make round ones and some with handles. Also I am going to have a friend laser scripture on them, and I am going to put small super magnets in them so they can be put on a fridge also. I may make mine a little thinner so they can fit in a pocket nicely. So do you have a scrollsaw? That's another way to cut the outside circle, much easier and better than a hole saw I think. I've been scrolling for over 30 years and I use my scrollsaw everything. You can cut any shape very accurately, wastes less wood, and it's a fun safe tool. I like the way you use your drill press to sand them. Great idea! Looks like you have a nice shop. Anywho, again super video and great project and I'll be watching more. Have a great day! Marty from Minnesota🙂

Hi Marty thank you so much. Yeah I do have a scroll saw but for the size of timber I’ve used so far I don’t get much waste from doing it the way I do and the sanding technique is something i found someone else doing and I thought genius lol, I’ve contemplated making them thinner also some with a hole all the way through but not done those yet. Again i really appreciate your comments and I am glad your enjoying the content, I’ve not put anything else up yet as life has been hectic so not had the time but I’ve got some things in the pipeline that will be up soon. I hope you carry on enjoying the videos and thanks for the sub 👍🏻

Hi, thanks for the video. I like the idea of sanding on the pillar drill but can’t get my head around how your jig attachment is holding it in place. Could you explain how to make the jig and how it attaches please.

Hi yeah it’s a good idea maybe not the safest lol but definitely save a good amount of time. once I’ve drilled the hole for where the bottle top would go I then put a bolt through the metal opener bit with a washer and nut tighten it up then screw that metal opener bit to the wooden part, then put the bolt in the drill press and that’s it away you go. Hopefully that’s clear for you bud if not I’ll try do a short or something for one to show how I do it. Thanks for the comment and glad your enjoying the vids 👍🏻

Ah, I get it now I missed the fact you were using the actual metal opener at the end of the bolt. (Should’ve gone to specsavers eh?) I guess I could move the opener around a bit to not use the same holes when it comes to putting it back together. Thanks, all the best with your channel I’m enjoying it.

lol it’s ok I could’ve made it a bit clearer maybe 🤔 I find that using the same holes is ok but yeah moving them round would work or another thing I’ve done is either use some glue just on the tip of the screw so as you put it in it works round the thread or some epoxy would work good luck with how ever you do them fella. Glad your enjoying the channel 👍🏻

G’day Mate, these look awesome! what thickness is the Oak & what depth is the inner bore?
@Shedcreations802 ай бұрын
Thanks bud yeah they seem to sell well. The oak ends up around one inch thick and the depth is about 3/4 inch deep I do vary this a bit as depends on the thickness of the material

They look great. do you have enough space to screw down the bottle opener, is the 28mm hole just right, or should you go smaller?
@Shedcreations8029 күн бұрын
Thank you they really have gone down very well with everyone. I find there’s enough space it is tight though. You can go smaller but then you have to clean out some of the inside as it shows in the centre of the opener so there’s that bit more work, if you were concerned about the screws I’ve been experimenting with using just a resin or an epoxy to stick them in that works well. Glad you’ve enjoyed the video 👍🏻

Nice project! Are you eating up hole saws often?

Thanks bud. I did when I first started doing them but I find you just go slow then there ok

The bolt jig, what type of bolt?
@Shedcreations8011 күн бұрын
Hi bud it’s just a bolt I got from a hardware shop I’ll see if I can add a pic of one for you
@Shedcreations804 күн бұрын
I had a look at the bolt and it’s an m10 x 120 that I used so something like that would work
