Easy Oil Painting Tutorial: Paint a Vintage Cozy Cottage Landscape

🎨Full colour palette of paint used: burnt umber, titanium white, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, quinacridone red, cadmium orange, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium red medium, and sap green.
🖌️Canvas tone colour: quinacridone nickel azo gold acrylic paint by Golden mixed with Liquitex Professional gesso, applied to the canvas and sanded down (x3) for a silky smooth surface.

Lovely homey happy painting!💜🍀 Loved the process. A ques: How much was your waiting time between layers, and how do you tackle the lint in the air that gets stuck to wet painting :( Just awesome painting 🫶

Hi, thanks so much for your comment! So because I paint in thin layers and use a hint of liquin, my layers were typically dry in 1-2 days time. I also don't have any pets in my home and I try to keep my studio pretty clean, so I don't really have too much lint or dust floating around. However, I think that loose brush hairs, little tiny pieces of lint, etc. actually form part of the finish and are part of what makes an original painting special. Layne Johnson, a very prolific painter, has a cat in his studio and he says the hairs are part of what gives it character. I hope this helps!

Acrylic is supposed to dry quickly, but if you want to slow it down, you can use mediums and retarders, or an acrylic paint like Golden’s open line which has a deliberately slow dry time 🙂
