I can't read notes. I tried but it gives me such a hard time so I've been only using chords my whole life. To see this kind of video where you explain it by chords and visualize it. Automatically I like it very much! Thank you!

I love your tutorial. I was originally looking for a rhythm-based tutorial to help me count out the written notes. I came across your tutorial and I really love your style. I like the way you look at the left and the right hand as one giant chord and explain how the notes fit within that chord. I also love how you add a little insights such as how, If you were to play certain notes within the chord, it would change the entire feel of that chord (and song). Awesome tutorial, definitely liked and subscribed!

There ain't no gold in this river That I've been washin' my hands in forever I know there is hope in these waters But I can't bring myself to swim When I am drowning in this silence Baby, let me in Go easy on me, baby I was still a child Didn't get the chance to Feel the world around me I had no time to choose What I chose to do So go easy on me There ain't no room for things to change When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways You can't deny how hard I have tried I changed who I was to put you both first But now I give up Go easy on me, baby I was still a child Didn't get the chance to Feel the world around me Had no time to choose What I chose to do So go easy on me I had good intentions And the highest hopes But I know right now That probably doesn't even show Go easy on me, baby I was still a child I didn't get the chance to Feel the world around me I had no time to choose What I chose to do So go easy on me

I have hear 4 other versions of this song played and now I'm confused. I learned in one version the chord you play with your right hand i.e., F major with thumb on F-flat, you play only that note with the left hand...I would like to learn this song and sing long with it. I like the idea of playing the melody with the chords. Thanks for the tutorial!
@JoshLange2 жыл бұрын
I learned this song by listening to the song, and I'm sure a lot of similar tutorials were created with slight variations. Just pick whatever sounds best to you! If you just want to play the chords in the left hand and melody in the right, maybe just look up basic chord shapes for the chords I show, not necessarily playing the exact keys I do. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial! :)

May I ask, how do you learn these songs? Like, in which key are they and the chords. Is it by ear or some research? I'm trying to improve on my own :]
@JoshLange3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I actually hope to eventually make a series of videos on this topic. I think the best tip is to listen to the bass part, it is usually very helpful for figuring out the chords and the key of the song. Once I figure out the key, I start to work on the specific notes in each hand. It definitely is a skill that comes with practice. Let me know if you have more questions!
@Lluchito3 жыл бұрын
@@JoshLange Thank you so much! I would be really into a series of this topic. Maybe one day i can start teaching just like you
