I found this amazing curly hair hack by Marcela Tumas (watch here! • CABELO DE DIVA SEM BAB... ) and I had to test it out and share it with you all!! It's amazing what you can do with with just a belt from a robe and a pair of pantyhose, apparently it can get you salon quality curls! i love this method and use it often, but i have some tips to improve the tecnique and make it work better. 1. don't do it on dry hair, rather wet/damp 2. instead of wrapping straight down, as you go along, work backwards to the back of your head. therefore you will be starting closer to the root and not pulling the hairs so far forward which will fix the straight sections 3. tie a hairtie around the end of the hair and the robe, and then pull them to the back of your head. tie the two strings in a knot and then put the remainder of the robe on the top of your head. this makes side sleeping much more comfortable 4. when you let the curls loose, if it looks funky at the front, take the front strands and pull them back in a sort of half up half down style hope these help!!

The problem with doing this damp hair is that the hair doesn't dry fast enough when it has been "rolled" around itself. I have such thick and long hair that I have to let my hair dry a whole day when I'm making curls by doing a Dutch or French braid with damp or completely wet hair. And if there's not enough moisture/dampness, the curl won't hold since I have stick straight hair. Oh the joy.

Sipu97 ya my hair is more on the medium thin side so it’s not as much of a problem. Maybe try dry shampoo or a leave in conditioner?

how can i get my front to look good? because I always mess it up in the front and the half up half down style doesn‘t suit me well...

Lilia Grace yeah it is kind of hard to get it not to look funky. I haven’t found a perfect solution but maybe trying to start further back instead of at the very front of your head so that the curls don’t start at the root? Also try to stretch them out or shake them so the aren’t as tight

What I do is, instead of making buns, I first secure the hair with an elastic to the “rope”, then tie the two ends together. It ends up looking kinda like a bridal hairstyle 😂 but this way you can sleep comfortably on the sides

Yeah i do it similar to elena to make it more comfortable. after i have wound all the hair around the robe, then take a hair tie and just tie it around the end of the hair and robe where the hair ends. then i bring the 2 sides to the back, tie it in a knot and then place the remaining length of the robe on top of my head and put the tights on to keep in place. hope this helps!

@@lawcrencemila6300 actually fine hair is the opposite of coarse hair and refers to the diameter of the hair shaft itself. Thick hair is the opposite of thin hair and refers to the number of hairs/amount of actual hair one has...so yes, a person can have fine, thick hair. Just fyi😊

TIP: Once you have finished wrapping your hair around and you have swirled into that little bun on each side thing, put a shower cap on. This will keep the curls nice and tight. It will also hold them in place overnight!

I've tried that when i had long hair. To have even smoother hair cover your hair in a silk bonnet. If you dont have one then use a silk nighty or scarf and wrap it around your head before bed. That creates way less friction than pantyhose. I also used to use a warm blowdryer on it for 5 minutes before taking the robe tie out then blast then use it on the cool setting for a minute. This made my curls less stiff and tight. Then I'd just add some shine spray or a lightweight serum. Wish i had long hair again to try this! You look beautiful btw

If you not wind it as tight it will give you a softer more relaxed look! I found her video a few months ago and it instantly became my number one way to curl my hair! It's so easy and looks so good!

FYI I've find out a much easier method. When my hair is still damp, I make two space buns high on my head (by first twisting my hair tight and then wrapping them around in a bun) and let them air dry!
