I'm 75 and been making that fudge since I was a teen. One thing I found out years ago is that with all the fat in the peanut butter all that butter 8n not necessary. Just extra fat a calories for no reason. Also, I use crunchy peanut butter.

Yes, I plan on making an updated video to show how the fudge sets up and cuts now that I have a video editing app where I can speed up the wait time as it cools 😊

Wouldn't it go better if you just scraped the peanut butter and the marshmallow out onto a buttered or oiled plate ahead of time in order to save time at a crucial point in the cooking later?

I've been given the tip to put the marshmallow and peanut butter in the microwave to melt a bit and then add. I haven't given that a try yet but will certainly be giving that a try. Thank you for the suggestion.

I made this last night. Taste great, but very crumbly. Could not cut it into nice pretty pieces. I followed you instruction what when wrong?
@JonesteadFarm Жыл бұрын
Sometimes, depending on how hot the burner on your stove gets, fudge can cook at too high of a temperature and sometimes will make fudge a bit crumbly. Some use candy thermometers to gauge the temperature since so many stove tops heat differently. What I look for is a consistent full boil, and I'll barely turn the heat lower if it looks like the mixture is boiling too hard. Hope that helps!

Will it taste good without marshmallows?
@JonesteadFarm Жыл бұрын
It does need the marshmallow cream for taste, consistency, and to set up correctly 😊

Put peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds it will melt and you can pour it into your sugar ingredient

2 cups sugar,,,,,,,Notice Change, 1 stick of butter 1 - 12oz can Evaporated Milk 1 - 16oz jar of peanut butter 1 - 7oz jar of marshmallow cream Dash of vanilla (optional) ,,,,,,,,,,,, this would be a better receipt. the one you have is WAY too Much Sugar. Just A suggestion!! Good Luck ! Stay Blessed
@JonesteadFarm Жыл бұрын
The original recipe calls for 5 cups of sugar! I never could add that much because it made it so so sweet. I always cut back to about 4 cups (as I mention in my video). Yes, that's still sweet but so many friends and family ask me to make it I stick to the reduced 4 cups. There is the possibility that not adding enough sugar may not get it to set. I've been asked to make this fudge this weekend for a family gathering 😊 Thank you for your suggestion.

I have made it with blue bonnet stick butter for 40 years now. Taste great and turns out perfect. I also throw a few dashes of kosher coarse salt to calm down the sweetness a little. You her the sweet taste then a slight taste of salt. So you have sweet and salty peanut butter fudge.
