Love and have all the plants you suggested! I would add to this list: Nepata, Salvia, Black eyed susan, hostas, hardy geraniums (Rozanne), shasta daisy

Excellent video, thank you for sharing! Your channel is great. You’ve now confirmed that I need to give Epimedium x rubrum a try here in Zone 4b Minneapolis. One of my favorite, easy perennials to grow are hardy geraniums. Specifically, Biokovo and Rozanne have been exceptional for me. The way they expand territory and mound is beautiful. And they look good from early spring to the end of fall.

Goldenrod is one of my favorite easy to grow perennials. From the second year on it grows densely to prevent weeds. It provides bright blooms for pollinators late in the year when most summer plants are done.

We agree! Goldenrod is a great perennial, and so beneficial for pollinators and wildlife.

Unfortunately, I’m allergic to Goldenrod. It’s a very common allergy.

@@marybelliotti894 that’s ragweed. Goldenrod is often blamed but isn’t the plant causing allergy problems.

Thank you so much. This is very helpful, specifically I'm looking for deer resistant plants. My azalea and hydrangea suffered a lot from dear bites last year.

Enjoy your videos. Do you have luck with butterfly weed, of the milkweed family. Love the brilliant orange flower.

We find butterfly weed a bit hard to get established-it is slow to take off. But once it does, it is pretty hardy and a really lovely plant. It has a taproot, so pick a full-sun spot to grow it and let it be-it is not always happy to be moved.

Anyone know what the silver plant is next to the tall sedum at time code :46?
@tiaturpen6508

That’s a variegated sedum that isn’t in bloom. May be Autumn Charm sedum.

@ Tia Turpen…Variegated sedum is so beautiful. But I haven’t had luck with it because it easily reverts to green if you’re not ultra diligent about removing any hint of a green stem that invariably shoots up in it!😭Do you have any tips, Tia?
