Because of you I can now improvise Greensleeves...using A, G, F and E base chords with left hand...and picking tune out with treble right hand. Before I could play many tunes in major key base chords with left hand using what you are doing here. It is a wonderful way to relax between learning pieces from sheet music. You're a star Jazer!

I just turned 70 and have a love of piano music. From the Classical, to Movie score, to Jazz and finally to tradition Chinese music play on the piano. (Example, “The butterfly lover,” “The Bund.”) What you had show me, in your KZbin, is that I can still learn how to play the piano at my age. Maybe not playing the heavy Classical music but definitely early twentieth century French composers, (Ravel, Debussy.) So, thanks for the seven insightful things you wishes you had learned in starting to play the piano. (I don’t feel intimidated anymore)

It is so important that you find a video like this that affirms of what you have been doing is exactly what was explained here. This is the kind of "break" I was also doing to my students. Finding their own way to make melody of their own with simple chord patterns. It is really effective. 🥰

Hello :) I just discovered your videos and currently binging on them !! They are all great and helpful. I’m a beginner, I’m having difficulty positioning my hands without having cramps afterwards. I watch your left hand here and it appears to me that there is no tension, peacefully finding the next note and playing it. When I try to play, I feel like the distance required for my 1st and 5th finger is too far LOL. I’d be grateful if you can give some tips on a video on how to tackle this. Thank you very much

Thank you from a newbie. I’m loving your videos. But, I always find it hard to see which keys your fingers are pressing as you play. If you were to use a strong side light, then the keys will have shadows, and will be easier to see them when “down”. Just a thought. 🤔
