I would try out a polygel overlay and use a peel off base coat! That way if you mess up or decide it’s not for you, you can just pop it off! also instead of buying an entire kit like this, you can get 1 tube of polygel from amazon

Correction!!! You must apply the base gel if you want them to last. Not applying the base gel will lead to them popping clean off within 3-5 days. So if you are looking to have them temporarily/very short time frame, then skip the base gel

Interesting. On their website they say it’s not a poly gel. This kit is a builder gel in a bottle. It definitely doesn’t self level but I will be trying to use a slip solution to get this look. Thank you for sharing what works for you! I actually love how this came out!

If you put a gel varnish colour over the top of the polygel, can you file off the top coat and soak the varnish off without destroying the polygel undernethe? I'd quite like to change the colour but keep the polygel for longer xxx

Look lovely. Well done. You don’t need to drag or brush PolyGel. It just needs gently patting because it’s obvs very malleable.

Girl, you got the holy grail of colors in this collection because Makartt acts like they simply do not want anyone to have Mocha or Ash Rose in Polygel form! They keep saying that they'll someday release it but that was back in 2019 and we have yet to see it! Even now (in 2022) when I click on the link that you provided in the description box, it leads nowhere because they've cancelled this collection too. Oh well! We can only dream! You wipe the tacky layer off with rubbing alcohol.

Actually if you are talking about the base coat that you put on before the polygel, you do not have to remove the tacky layer. However, if you are not going right in with the polygel immediately after applying the base coat I recommend removing the tacky layer so you don't get lint or anything stuck to the base coat.

Yes. Search it up on KZbin. At first you need to apply gel base to the area and before curing it put some cotton fibers on the broken part and make sure theu are saturated with the base. Then cure and apply polygel. Don't forget nail prep (buffing, dehydrating, primer)

That thin arch of skin (lighter than your finger's skin) just where the cuticle should be and right above that white part (which I believe is the baby nail cells?), is that also part of the cuticle? what is the point f gel if u dont make the nail longer than ur natural one and u use a color that u can find normal nail polish in? its easier to use a normal nail polish and also cheaper especially if u just wanna hold it for a few days

I'm just starting with poly gel and I'm a mess lol It's so thick, I'm using either way too much or just too little. The shaping is tricky as I'm afraid to leave streaks. Can I fix this finish if I use less slip solution and drag the gel more? I'd love that cause I'd at least avoid the bubble gum look lol I'm doing overlay so any pointers for a beginner would be amazing!!!

Hated this kit. Polygel was super sticky. The colors did not look as pretty as in your video. I used the dual forms and my nails came out super thick. They were incredibly difficult to file, shape and remove. Ended up damaging my nail plate trying to get them off.

How thick your nails look depend on your application.
