I owned a similar model Coleman in the mid 90's, and camped from Florida to California and back, and throughout the US in it. Replaces tires 3 times. It served me well, and as the family grew I moved up to a Class C Camper. In a motor home you lose the ability to unhook the camper and take day trips in a smaller tow vehicle, but gain the ability quickly set up and tear down the campsite in the rain. One can also use parking lots in rest stops to take a snooze and cook up some dogs. But I sure loved my Coleman.

thanks for the video. I really had no idea how it went up and down and the work involved.

And I thought you were getting it ready for field day until I heard you say getting it ready for winter. I had a used pop up camper in 1973 that I bought in Austin, Tx and camped my way to Air Force Navigator school in Sacramento, CA. Spent about six days on the trip. Very basic camper, but plenty good for me.

I appreciate the reality video of pop-up campers. Some of them are really expensive! To me, it just seems like a lot of work and especially for someone like me who would really only be doing this for a weekend here and there. I am sure over time it just becomes a normal thing to do and you don't think of it but I would be thinking, what if it's a really terrible day? Thanks for the video.

I agree...that's why I got rid of this last year. It was more work than it was worth. I went back to tent camping...

@@SevenFortyOne So, tent camping is easier? I would think it would be more or less the same in the time frame of setting up. I have purchased one of those easy up and down tents that I will test out this fall, who knows.
@SevenFortyOne Жыл бұрын
Yes...tents don't sit in the yard 51 weeks of the year taking up room and getting mice in them. They don't require a gas guzzling tow vehicle either. I can set up a tent on any patch of flat ground in a few minutes and don't need to worry about it I have enough room to fit them on the site or how to back in or fit in a small space.

@@SevenFortyOne So true and something to think about. I am forever checking out RV'S but they are too $$ for me. Honestly, the truth is, at best I would be able to do this maybe a grand total of two weeks a year (because I won't be camping every free moment I get). Sitting in the driveway, mice, the gas and the insurance makes me wonder if tent camping isn't just the better way in the end.

Whew, that made me tired. Maybe why I have a '42 diesel pusher. Looks to be in great condition.
