This is a really cute bag - just love the patchwork bags! It’s great to be able to use a whole mini charm pack, too. Your tutorial is very clear and concise. Thank you for the cutting sizes in your drop down. I really prefer bags with no raw edges inside. I look forward to seeing you make one with the binding (no raw edges).

Precious project. I've been thinking I might put together some simple project baskets for when I have company come. The basket could include all the items needed to make the bag and a set of instructions. Maybe a picture of one I've made using the same pattern as a sample. This would be a perfect one to start with. I can foresee making a basket for a table runner, possibly another basket for a lap top "Trip Around The World". Even a simple sofa pillow with some of my orphaned blocks.

@RedCrossStitcher Жыл бұрын
My machine has a built in walking foot but if you have one it does help when quilting. Just lengthen your stitch. You can do a French seam but the binding on the outside it easy as well to do for a seamless finish. I am going to do another tutorial showing that method. Have a blessed weekend as well and thank you for watching and spending time with me today 🥰

First time at your channel and I enjoyed your tutorial. I'll be making a few of these for Christmas gifts. Thank you so much. I'd love to see a tutorial on the binding version of this bag. Also, I didn't understand what you meant about not stitching over the tabs you sewed on to the zipper ends. You tried so hard and a did a great job on your tutorial. I just couldn't see or understand that small part. I'm sure I'll figure it out when I do the actual sewing. Can't wait to see more videos from you!
@RedCrossStitcher Жыл бұрын
Thank you so very much ❤️ On the tabs for the zipper, once you sew the tabs to the end of the zipper and are ready to attach it to the bag, you center it right in the middle. That is why the zipper is cut 1” shorter than the width of the bag. Once the zipper is installed and you are ready to sew the bag together make sure the zipper is open and when sewing down the side don’t catch the tab of the zipper in your side seam. That is why I left 1/2” on each side. Sew your sides together with a little less than 1/2” seam allowance. I hope that made sense 🥰 Thank you so much for watching ❤️

Could this be finished with a French seam, eliminating the raw inside edges? If desired, of course.
@RedCrossStitcher Жыл бұрын
You could but would need to account for the extra seam allowance to do it so your zipper would need to be at least 1/2” shorter to accommodate the 1/4” seam on each side, if that makes sense 😊
