With a jam, I always start with mixing the sugar and the fruits, covering it with cling foil and letting it rest for 3-4 hours on a warm spot like a sunny window sill. In my personal opinion it makes it taste even fruitier and juicier. Oh and try a dash of cinnamon within the rasperry jam. So good!

Vogue, if you're going to make a recipe video at least have it be longer and more detailed. This is food, you need measurements, and more detail about what exactly the cook is doing. Then you're saying its easy but you're using a thermometer? Who really has one on hand in their kitchen? Or a food processor? Things like that make it more inaccessible to people who can't afford those things. The video in general was okay, but there are definite opportunities! :)

If you don’t have a thermometer or a food processor, you probably shouldn’t be a cook in the first place

Even easier recipe: Crush raspberries with a fork Add desired amount of sugar Add a little lemon juice And enjoy your single serving of raspberry jam!

It's a simple thing to cook. Every woman(and not only) from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan knows how to cook it. And we call it "варенье" (varen'e).

no it wouldnt work with stevia. you can take coconut sugar it tastes great and has more minerals and vitamins ! :)

+Oly Ramz absolutely. its more expensive but I love it :) at the end of the day it is a question of taste though because sugar is sugar. And sugar/glucose is vital for the brain so dont be scared of sugar/carbs (in its natural whole form aka fruits, potatoes, rice its obviously healthier) :)

+Marieke - to much sugar is bad for you. if you truly want to carb up get your pastas , oats , bananas and other stuff in that has glucose which is better than refined sugar

jam is a pre fridgerator way to make fruits durable for the time over winter. You need a decent amount of sugar to ensure that there is no mold or bacteria growing. (Sugar has the ability to keep mildew and bacteria away.) And since you pour it in a glass jar while hot you can it and seal airtight. Because of these two steps (sugar + jarring) you can keep the unopened jam for a very long time.

Isn't that a raspberry syrup? I've made "jam" similarly but I add chia seeds to it. To help it thicken to be more like a jam. This version doesn't make any sense to me...
