Hello gorgeous!
This is a fun & easy way to make textural prints on your gel plate. Great for backgrounds, collaging, and pretty much anything your imagination can come up with!
Here's list of what you'll need (& the link to the love letters I mentioned)
THE GEAR:
~ gel plate
~ brayer
~ acrylic paint
~ cornstarch or baby powder
~ paper for pulling your prints
~ scrap paper (for rolling your brayer clean)
~ baby wipes (to clean any muck off your plate)

I absolutely love all of your commentary and fun banter, And, and, I really appreciate the absence of background music (so unnecessary I feel, and can be so distracting.) I've been gel printing for about 1.5 years now (kind of obsessed with botanical prints and abstract landscapes) - Sooo glad to subscribe, and will go back and watch your other vids too! Great stuff Amanda!

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been on a personal mission to try and get artists to understand that background music is not only distracting, it’s irritating - especially when they’re having to shout over it. What amazes me is that I understand that the use of music in the editing, and with copyright issues, it’s a nightmare to add. So, do yourselves a favour, take a leaf out of Amanda’s book here, and just avoid it altogether. Win win! ☺️ New subscriber btw - fun video and loved the results.

Thanks so much, Carol, I appreciate your feedback. I’m new to making videos so still getting my footing, finding my comfort with the camera, etc. so the banter could come from a fear of silence or “dead air” or nerves maybe? 😂 Anyway, I’m grateful for your comment cos it helps me grow! This technique is a great idea for Christmas cards, hope you have fun with it! (Can you believe it’s almost Xmas already?!)

Are you having fun with it, Julz? I find using the plate is a great way to let go of control. The blue towels are Scott Shop Towels. They’re great because they’re durable & can be reused a couple times. Good for cleaning up grease, dirt, spills. Can usually find this type of towel at hardware stores or mechanic stores. Men love to have them in the car & the garage 😂
