Adorable. I want to make this. I mostly make pillows, zip pouches, and small quilts. Have you ever tried using Clover clips? Great to hold binding in place and you don’t have to worry about getting stuck by your pins.

I’ve used clips when sewing binding onto a quilt, but didn’t think of using them for bias binding too. Great idea!

Lengthen the bottom a few inches/centimeters, and then see as instructed. If that is the issue. It's a really cute dress and I think it's appropriate for a wife range of ages if modified slightly.

I don’t think it would look odd! You could remove the ruffle and make another one a bit longer instead of you prefer though 😊
