In today's offering I'm creating a set of 8 Artist Trading Cards that were inspired by a little dream I had the night before. In the dream I was watercolour painting some poppies.

These little poppy ATC cards are delightful Mike. They are simple, but I like the colors, the lines, the centers of each flower and the fact that they are "similar but different" as you said. Amazing how just a touch of blue and a light black splatter added so much to each card. Very nice Mike. Thank you for sharing. You, Ian, Mr, Bentley, Mum and Dad... please stay safe and well. I love this cute and quick project. I had to step away for a bit and when I returned, the first thing I thought I was seeing was mushrooms. With a little modification they could have been mushrooms. maybe for another ATC video.

I live in Southern California. Last night I had a dream about John Steinbeck and I associate poppies with him. There is a wonderful story where he has a yard full of poppies and the people that live around come and freely pick them. He doesn't want them to, but he is unable to stop them. I look forward to doing this project. Thank you!

Love your work as always Mike. Coincidentally 25 Apr is ANZAC Day here in NZ and the Poppy represents the NZ and Aus soldiers killed in WW1 and WW2. I usually do a series of 9 because the card pocket pages I use have 9 pockets. Love water colouring it’s easier on the hands than colouring with pencils . Thanks for the inspiration. It’s Anzac Day here in Australia and the poppy features heavily. Love from Australia 🇦🇺ps yes I know the idea is to trade them but I don’t have anyone to trade with so I keep them in a folder to flip through with my grandson’s.

Hi Mike, really enjoyed these ATC’s, recently became obsessed with watercolours, trying really hard with varying successes - the main positive is I now have an abundance of used watercolour paper for mixed media backgrounds!!! 😂 I hope that you, Ian, Mr B and your parents are safe and sound, best wishes, Laura xx
