However, it is not user friendly, because user cannot see the approval progress in Power Apps until process is completed. For example, if approval status has been pending approval for a long time, a user wants to know who does not approve yet in Power Apps. I hope Microsoft will implement the function to get approval progress in SharePoint/PowerApps in sequential approval method. Until then, I will use conventional method which is makes the flow complicated.

Possible but its not an out of the box feature with approvals. There are integrations available with adobe and docusign for that.

Hi Reza, nice video showing this upgrade. However, there's something annoying with teams notifications. In a chain of 3 levels, if first approver rejects, all superior levels receive a notification for that rejection, as the final status of the approval request. In the same way, when the last approver approves or rejects, the previous approvers get another notification of the final status. That is something that I want to send only to the requestor. Is there any admin configuration on notifications? If I turn them off from the action y power automate, they don't receive any notifications, even when it is their turn to approve.

Hi Reza, My list has a calculated column, that drives the approval level. My matrix of approval contains in the Title the approval level as text, not lookup column type. In the approval flow, start and wait for approval i get the error empty value from select output. For my array item should i use compose instead of select? Hi Reza, this is a great solution! Thanks for sharing. I managed to get it working for a similar process where I needed the ability to add parallel approvers in the first step and sequential approvers for the subsequent steps. In my testing though, using the Sequential approval type option, only approvers in step 1 receive a notification via Teams. I cannot figure out how to make the second/third/etc. step approvers receive a notification in Teams. Have you experienced this? Any ideas?

Hi Reza, I have a doubt. have a SharePoint list connected to a power app and power automate flow for users to get approvals. In my list, I have the following fields Requester, Name, Requested Date, Request Type (Where there are multiple choices), Value, Status, Approvers, Assigned To , Approval History. These are the main columns required for this action. In my flow, I have a switch condition for Request Type. And another if condition for value. If Value is less than 500 - it should go to person A and person B. If value is between 500-1000 - it should go to person C and person B. If Value is above 1000- it should go to person A, B, C, D. All of these should go sequentially. For eg, if user enters a request for value less than 500. The status should show Pending Approval (Which it already does). Approvers Column should have the Person A and Person B Data(Names or profile pic). Assigned To column should have Person A first. Once Person A approves, Assigned To column should have Person B Name.

Hi Reza, thanks for your tutorial! Quick question: After 'Update Item' for approvals and denials, I want to send an email back to the requester. For approvals, I plan to say: "Your request 'project name' has been approved by 'Person A', 'B', C', and 'D', I can list all names since order doesn’t matter. But for denials, how do I specify which person denied it? How can I set up the email to indicate who denied the request during the process? Thanks

I have an approval flow. I have manually set it up to send an email to the approver. However, it also automatically sends a Teams notification though the Approvals feature on Teams. To avoid confusion, I don't want the Teams notification to be sent. Is ther any way to do it.

Not sure what the confusion is? Teams approval notification and email notification, both point to same approval task. It gives users multiple mediums from where they can respond to the approval action. There will also be a notification sent on power automate mobile app to approver. I don’t think there is an option to only send notification to a particular medium.

Hi Reza thanks for this. I would like to store the approver names in each step in the share point list with the approval status. Is it possible ? Also how do we trigger the same approval steps everyday till it is approved. We have to give the flexibility of approving the flow from mail and not through the power automate console by giving the link to the approval. When the approval is triggered it goes to the mail. But if I would like to send the same approval triggered mail with an approve reject option each day till the approval is fulfilled is there a way ?

If approvers in order are same then action errors. So approvers have to be unique. Better option would be to frame the approval chain dynamically. If approver is already in list then dont add them.

Thats bcoz the flow is running under your account. Flow users context will be there in approval action. Better to use a service account to run the flow.

What if the approval times out at 2nd or 3rd approver? Does output show null values for those approvals to figure out for next actions?

An approval never times out. Its the flow run that times out after 30 days.

@@ResponsibleXI Yes you can. But not at approver level. Sequential is a single action in flow. So all you can do is timeout this action.

I need to submit another review request immediately after the above flow with different set of approvers, at least one of the approver names need to change. Whether I can proceed with Sequential flow. If yes please guide the way forward. If needed more details I will share via LinkedIn. This is in Same Region.

Hi, Reza I faced one error in power apps. When i insert the purchase header and purchase invoice lines into business central and when i update any purchase line first time in power apps it blank the purchase order line item unit cost and amount including vat field value and when i update same lines second time it works properly.
