Not to be a smart ass but what kind of Northern climate are You if you don't have much snow in January?? we usually average at least 20-30 cm cover in that Jan, some years even 50-70cm

We are in central Ontario just North of Toronto and don't get much snow though the winter 10 to 15 cm on a bad year.

before lambing its around 1/2 lb. of corn pellet mix at 16% after lambing its 2 lb. per ewe fed 1lb in the morning 1lb evening
