Rembrandt has that timeless look to it that I love, but I'm also a fan of the ring light look! Did not think to put the camera infront of the ring light though, so thank you for that little tidbit!

Which lighting do you think would help most with NVIDIA Broadcast remove background without a green screen? I think lighting is the main issue preventing it from giving more crisp edges and flickering. I know this isn't avoidable altogether but would the right lighting help? Maybe a ring light/front-facing to give me contrast from the BG?

Hey Sam great video. I just ordered the light and the reflection panel. I’m going to try the setup with the light behind me and the reflection panel offset in front. For streaming. As of right now I have two big photography lamps. And I hate having them on me during my streams. I think this going to make it more enjoyable/ comfortable for me. While letting my viewers see my big dumb face. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Sam. Thank you for the Lighting Video. I'm really struggeling with lighting at the moment. I really like the first setup (Rembrandt) but I am wondering how to setup this properly when having the camera in a 45° angle to your face. Do you have any advice. Greetings from Germany and thanks a lot for your content. Really appreciating your channel. Cheers o/
@Farren2463 жыл бұрын
One thing I hoped would be addressed (which wasn't) was how to control light spill. I find that whenever I light myself, even with soft reflected lighting, my background around 1.5m behind me is lit up like there's a spotlight on it. This leaves me blending into the bright background, where I'm going for a darker coloured background with bright white-light subject.

Wait what are you using to hold the reflector when it’s off to the side as a “modifier “ 🤔
@SamWoodhall2 жыл бұрын
A light stand with a clamp to hold the modifier. At most it's about $20 bucks for a decent stand plus the clamp.

Will Rembrandt work with a ring light as well ? Since you initially mentioned this method with a key light
@SamWoodhall3 жыл бұрын
It can work, but because of how the ring light is made, it might be tricky to get consistent intensity because the middle is hollow.
@Yabuk3 жыл бұрын
So would you recommend getting one higher quality light for single lighting setup over 2 cheaper led panels?
@SamWoodhall3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. 2 lights like this would work really well. Lighting equipment is one of those things that you can start off cheap, and as your content and income improves, it is much cheaper to upgrade to higher quality lights down the line.

Hi Sam, I've recently been working on my stream quality and I'm having issues with my monitor washing my face out with no other lights on in the room. Are there any tips you can offer to fix this? I've done everything I've seen in videos and the only thing thats helped was turning the brightness down on the monitor. My camera is the Razor Kiyo. Is it something a better camera will fix?
@MysticNinjaSoul4 жыл бұрын
what would you recommend if only have 2 lights
@xHadesStamps4 жыл бұрын
Apparently, there's a way to use a mirror as a fill light, making 3-point lighting possible with only two lights. I'd just recommend not having the lighting flat whenever possible.
