Hello ofri, just to be clear....am I looking gorgeous or is this project looking gorgeous or is the exterior looking gorgeous? LOL
@ofrimashiah26 жыл бұрын
tw HomeShow lol. I was wondering though. You did the exterior because you are planning to live in this house for long? Because maybe if you were to sell- the buyer would say that its styrofoam and this and that. What do you think? Maybe he would say that i believe your house is about 250 k? At least 250 k i would believe im nkt sure exactly how much. Maybe a natural stone is the bare minimum at this level?
@twHomeShow6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can see how you might think that the stone trim might not be real stone and that may lower the price of the home. BUT, you must consider that this home had NO stone strim before....and NOW it does! The trim doesn't add to the value of the overall home, except if it attracts someone for the look appeal.

What smart plug did you use for the Kitchen CounterTop LED Lights to trigger the motion sensor? Does the motion sensor needs to hook up to Smartthings hub/Alexa? Can you please explain the setup? Thanks.

Hello Johnny, I used....Z-Wave Outlet/Switch: amzn.to/2TPEfEj and Z-Wave Motion Sensor: amzn.to/2P5Ohxr. Then I set the lights to turn on by the motion sensor through Samsung Smartthings hub. Hope this helps. Todd

@twHomeShow6 жыл бұрын
The time to stay on can be set to anytime limit you want within your smartthings settings for the motion sensor.

I’ve ordered from 2 sets from nexflux and I’m not sure if it’s the process I used in installing them or the quality of the LED’s themselves. One set of them flickers when I adjust it to a natural white color and the other set the WiFi controller only allows for red. Also do you recommend certain clips ? I’ve attempted soldering but I’m getting mixed results.

Do you need a smartthings hub? Or can the echo be the hub? I am just doing the led tape with WiFi controllers. Also do I need the zwave plugs on the led lights?

Yes, It's z-wave, so you can set what ever time-frame you would like for it to be activated (or NOT) within your smarthub.

Hi there, I've watched your video 3 times now. You've put a lot of thought and planning into your set up! I am doing a similar set up, but was able to prewire low voltage wires before cabinets were installed. I have a question about the stainless basket looking thing you have mounted under your Cabinets nearest the fridge, what is it? Bread saver possibly? Thanks for sharing your whole process!!

Hello Cody, this is an automatic paper towel dispenser as shown here: www.amazon.com/stores/node/17978508011?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Innovia&ref_=bl_dp_s_web_17978508011 Best of luck with your lighting install! Thanks for watching. -Todd

Awesome video! I'm thinking of putting under cabinet lights on my kitchen as well, but mine are in a rectangle room and the cabinets are in opposite walls, so I was struggling on how to sync the lights from both sides to turn on/off at the same time (without drilling the ceiling or spending more than what I have in my budget with a professional to hard wire everything). Your video gave me a great alternative! I don't have Alexa, Echo or any similar, but I still would like to control the lights through the app and motion sensor, do I still need all the items you showed in the video? (I'm assuming the answer is yes, but just wanted to double check)
@twHomeShow6 жыл бұрын
Hello Larissa, Yes you could just use the app, But for the motion sensor (those are Z-Wave) you would need a Samsung SmartThings Hub in your home. But maybe you could find a motion sensor outlet adapter to plug your light strips into :) Thanks for watching and your comment!
@LaryPan6 жыл бұрын
tw HomeShow thanks for your reply! The concept of z-wave is a little new to me, so I don’t fully understand it. If I use the ecolink motion sensor and don’t have a samsung smart things hub it won’t work? Would you have any links of suggestions for a substitute or for the motion sensor outlet adapter? (I feel like if I get creative on my own I’ll end up doing something wrong or getting something incompatible, so I’ll just try to copy what you did) Thanks again
@LaryPan6 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to bother you again...I researched a couple of options, after your suggestion, and I found this D-Link DCH-S150 mydlink Wi-Fi Smart Motion Sensor. Do you think I can sync this wifi motion sensor with the Nexlux WiFi LED controller? Or they won't pair well because I'd need different apps?
@LaryPan6 жыл бұрын
Or is it just better to invest on an affordable hub, such as wink or Samsung?

Wanted to know if anyone had problems with the Wifi component. I bought 3 Wifi attachments, including the one that came with the Nexlux LED strip. None of the Wifi seems to want to connect and the remote doesn't work. The only thing that works is the light. I really want the Wifi to work because that's what makes the LED light smarter. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I tried resetting the Wifi by plugging the power on and off 4x per instructions.

The only thing I can think of, is make sure you're trying to connect to a 2.4ghz wifi network and NOT 5ghz wifi.

Hello Zac. Yes, I have them (both sides) working with a Z-wave smart plug (outlet) that connects easily to SmartThings Hub. That's what I am using. The Wink hub also supports the same (z-wave or Zig-Bee) smart plug outlets :)

As long as you have a SmartThings Hub in your home you should be good to go. The Smartthing hub is capable of handling and communicating with zwave, zigbee, and all smartthings accessories. I'm sure your project will be successful if you have these supplies. My setup is still working flawlessly and everyone in the household just expects it to work without flipping any switches....and it does, just that....ALL AUTOMATICALLY :) Sure, it takes some time setting up your lighting and pairing your devices to your smart hub, but after it's all done. You'll be able to enjoy!
