I've completed one for practice before going to the Dollar store (smile) but I'm curious why you didn't use the toe of the sock and only have to put one rubber band at the top. I did my just like you did and it's cute. Going to decorate it and try to send picture. Thanks for this idea! I'm going to use them as gifts for a group of Senior in card making class I teach.

Great video. It might be a good idea to use string instead of rubber bands because rubber bands deteriorate over time and will fall apart on there own, then you will have little snowman rice all over the place if they tip over or get handled. It usually takes a couple of years or more but string will last a very long time! :-) Keep up the good work!
@bethanyasman58306 жыл бұрын
Just a tip. After I use the rubber bands I also wrap some twine around the rubber band. This is just extra protection in case the rubber bans dry rot and break. Love your video. Thanks so much.

I made over 100 of these in 2015. Definitely use strong string as rubberbands will eventually break and if you turn the sock inside out, its more fuzzier.

That is soooooooooooo cute! I'm looking for crafts for a craft show coming up in a couple of weeks, and this will just fit in fine. I'll let you know how we make out. One thing I would do differently, is I would stick my straight pins in glue before putting them in. That way, if a little kid got the snowman, mom or dad could rescue it before the pins were snatched out. Just love this, thanks!

I have made them before used dry beans and stiffing . for the eyes I have used googly eyes or I saw some with sequins for eyes..they are fun to make and cheap. I have used a holiday sock for the hat and sometimes put a bell or a pom pom at the end.

Hi these are so cute:) I do agree with someone who commented on please do not give these to young children (hand to mouth). Not sure if fabric pens would work? Or if they would bleed. But what I really wanted to say to you was before you started decorating it; the first though that came to mind was it looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy :) Just a thought I think those would be cute gifts for someone's kitchen. Love your videos. Cheers!

@beckymlane67579 жыл бұрын
I'm actually going into my 5 year olds class to do these as a Christmas treat, I'm going to get the children to pick which colour pins (which I'm cutting to make smaller) and myself and the teacher will be gluing them on with super glue while the children are out playing, they will be fully dried and are safe to take home at the end of the day
