Very nice Marly! I love making dishcloths! I usually have either a knit or crochet one going all the time. It’s great for in the car crafting! Thanks for sharing!

This is my first Knit project I can't wait to see how it looks when I'm done. I started using the Susan Bates tally counter but ended up using Knit Genius to keep track of which row I was on and what repeat I was on.

Thank you so much!!! I’m now on 45 days without a manicure and the glitter is hiding the grown out dip polish 🤣 my nails are getting so long I don’t know if I will be able to take it much longer.

Hi Marley, love your videos. You absolutely inspire me. Btw, is there a video or written instructions on the wrap you’re wearing?

Are the needles you are using light? I hve fibromyalgia and I’m liking for a knitting needles that aren’t to heavy bc if they are heavy they hurt my joints in my hand. Also I going to start knitting ur KAL 2019 sweater. Can you recommend a good blocking mat. Please stay safe
@caitlinburke51844 жыл бұрын
I am just starting too and also have fibro, was just stretching my hands looking at the comments. I'm using steel ones too, which seem heavy. I saw many different kind at the thrift shop where I got these ones, I just didn't really know what I was looking for at the time and got these ones.

How could I make a smaller dishcloth using this pattern?
@CHICHISWEETS10 ай бұрын
🧶 note: I’m working the swatch you are working with/ the cast on of 24 stitches. THE PATTERN says “end on 3rd or 9th row”. BUT, in video you say “end after 6th or 12th row”. Which is correct?

They must have changed the pattern. I want to say go with what you think looks good

Marly,, who needles brand are you using? I read somewhere with cotton yarn use wood/bamboo needles, but your stitches are just rolling off your needles very smoothly.
@MarlyBird4 жыл бұрын
These are signature needle arts needles. With a sticky yarn like cotton I prefer a metal needle. Wood and bamboo tend to grab at yarn so if you partner a sticky yarn with a grabby needle it makes it hard on your hands.

I'm a bit confused about the pattern. When you change from knit to purl are you doing a yarn over? I'm doing English style knitting because I find this easier but it means I'm struggling to translate your movement on that area. There aren't yarn overs in the pattern but you're moving the yarn when you go from knit to purl - is this a different movement?
@MarlyBird4 жыл бұрын
I move the yarn between the needles when I transition from knit to purl and vice versa. The same is done in English style knitting.

Why do you use straight needles instead of circular needles?
@MarlyBird4 жыл бұрын
I chose to use straight needles when making dishcloths because I like the way it feels. For the most part I use circular needles for everything else.

Loved the video. Just a FYI for you. In crochet it's called frogging. In knitting, it's called tinking when you go back to redo stitches. Weird, I know; but sometimes terminology is important.
@MarlyBird4 жыл бұрын
Actually, frogging is a term used in both knitting and crochet :)
@MarlyBird4 жыл бұрын
Tinking is going back one stitch at a time in knitting. TINK is KNIT in reverse. Frogging is used becuase you Ripit ripit ripit.
