I bought one of these little printers about 4 or 5 months ago and have run it every day for about 3 - 4 hours a day and it has worked great. The only errors I’ve had have been user induced. I just now had to order a new extruder ($10) because I finally wore the old one out. I recommend this little printer too for anybody wanting to jump into 3d printing.

So Amazon had a sale on these and ended up getting it for $60. I'm pretty new to this hobby so I wanted to start small. I got it today and have it put together. Im excited to get it set up and start printing some stuff.

Would you recommend this for my first printer? I am rather tech savvy and pretty decent with diy stuff.
@mbioman3 жыл бұрын
If you have the extra budget and want a printer that you can grow into and tinker with over time, I'd recommend the Ender 3 or similar: amzn.to/3r3krMV and kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6OWiH5qnNx3nq8. However, the small form factor and price of the K1 is hard to beat. It comes completely assembled and prints PLA like a champ.

@@mbioman OK thank you. I just ordered the X3 model based on budget and functionality. And all the reviews I can find are rather exceptional. I don't mind a few bugs here and there. And it's not a whole lot wasted if I don't like it. If I feel like I need to I will definitely upgrade to the Ender 3 pro. Thanks again 😸

thanks for the review! i'm waiting for mine to arrive.. and looking for filaments, i noticed that there are no much 250gr spools and non 500gr... most of the spools are 1kg which i though it will be too much for the extruder motor... can you please show how did you put it? i bought the same hatchbox that you show in this video.
@mbioman3 жыл бұрын
I ended up using this for the 1kg spools. www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047554. just place the spool next to the printer or behind it.

I only need to print TPU FPV parts and noticed that multiple people stating the X1 prints TPU pretty good. Fingers crossed the K1 does as well as I just ordered one.

I’m thinking the same thing. I need fpv parts but don’t want to spend a ton and take up lots of space. Did it work out for you?
@battano3 жыл бұрын
@@syliss101 For a very short time it print out TPU parts. Enough for a couple sets of arm guards and antenna mounts. The issue is that its not made to really be serviced. So if you end up with a jam or having to replace the tip on then you can take it apart once or twice but eventually you'll end up with broken clips and screws that dont retain parts because they screw into cheap plastic. I now have a sovol.

@@battano that’s a bummer. I may try it for the amazon return window just to see how it goes. I want something smaller since I fly micros and don’t want a lot of desk space taken up. Which sovol?

@@StarkillerVizarD PLA is pretty safe to print with. ABS does have fumes, but this printer probably won't do ABS very well any way. I use the Cura profile that came on the memory card with the printer. It works very good. I only make adjustments for things like supports when needed.

Hello. What program do i use to copy files to sd card. I know nothing about 3d printing
@mbioman3 жыл бұрын
This printer comes with a USB micro SD card reader. Just plug it into your computer like any other USB device. Or if you have a micosd card reader built in, that would work too. Software (older version of Cura) is included on the microsd card that comes with the printer. Or just download and install Cura separately. Process the stl files to gcode and save to the microsd card.

@@erfansn869 I pressed the play button during the print to pause the print. The unload the filament using the - button. Load new filament with the + button. Press play again to resume. The two color dragon phone holder was done this way. It is much easier to do this with octoprint which allows to not only pause the print, but then move the print head to properly load the filament and the replace the print head before resuming the print.

What printer software are you using to try printing through USB? There is a driver that is needed and included with the printer. Follow the online printing instructions that came on the TF card. If using the TF card to print, it prints the most recent gcode file on of the card.
