#1 tip is only valid if this is your first Pixel. If not, the setting is migrated from the old Pixel. I had on my P3 XL, didn't have to do it again on my P7.

As a long time Samsung user, I got this phone not long after it released back in October and I like it so much I bought a used pixel 6 pro in which I am running Graphene OS on right now. It may not be the most powerful device out there, but it sure has a lot of nice bells and whistles and as long as you don't get one from carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile, you have the ability to unlock the bootloader which allows you to root it and or run d googled operating systems like graphene, which are things I missed doing on Samsung phones for a long time.

@@tobizgamingart9683 realistically they both feel about the same as far as performance so I would say probably the seven because it's newer and you can get more life out of it by means of security updates if you plan on keeping it for a while. I never really tried the 6 pro on the stock Google OS as I pretty much put it right on graphene not long after I got it but my seven is still on the stock Google OS but eventually at some point I will put it on graphene as well because it is more true to being open source and is more secure and private IMO

Number one thing i did was to install the Nova Launcher. Used it instead of Pixel launcher. Allowed me to remove all those google icons and search bar from the home page and is custom icon set and live wallpaper friendly.

So much about this phone is great, but the fact that the fingerprint simply DOESNT work at all for me (tried lots of different fingers) and face unlock doesn't work if the room is JUST A LITTLE darker, is a no go.

this was actually an improvement over my Pixel 6 Pro having the face unlock. I'm wondering if you have a screen protector on because those can mess with fingerprints and some protectors don't work very good.

@@FishBeeProductions Yes I do, but the thin version. No other phone I had ever made problems with these protectors. The fingerprint is 100% unusable. It has a successrate of like 5%.

I've had this phone since October and I have to say that the fingerprint sensor works much better on it than it did on any of my old samsung notes that I used to use, and I also have a screen protector as well. If you haven't go into the settings and then go to display and then go all the way to the bottom and you'll see the screen protector mode option. Just a thought. Other than that it could be a faulty sensor. Have you ever had the screen replaced? Because typically it's best to replace that sensor when the screen is replaced and some repair shops might not do this to save money. Sorry I hadn't finished watching this video before I commented here, so as you can imagine, I didn't see that what I suggested above was the last thing that was recommended, so I guess you have tried it already

I re-use a SMS message frequently and I would like to save it as a "quick message" so I can send it to somebody without retyping it each time. On Samsung Galaxy S20, this was easy to do in the messaging app by selecting Quick Messages, but the messaging app on the Pixel 7 does not have that feature? It only has a few canned "Smart Responses" to reply to an incoming message, and no way to initiate a conversation with a pre-saved message. Is this possible on the Pixel 7 default messaging app, or do I need to look for a 3rd part app in the store to handle messaging?

I used the IMBZBK brand of glass screen protector; in my case the fingerprint scanner works 100%. During installation I pressed hard on the scanner area many times with my thumb and I believe that helped.

I have the Pixel 7 -- Why is the volume button used to control the media volume? My older samsung phone's volume buttons controlled the ring/notification volume. So, now if I want to change the volume of my notifications I have to click the volume button, go into the 3 dots and change the settings there.... like why?? Can I change this????

In my older phone, the media volume settings would automatically swap when Im watching a video. It was much easier. This is just annoying, having to go into settings to change the volume for my notifications.

Not that I know of. It's changed a little since older devices though. I'm not a huge fan of WiFi button and clear all being all the way to the left.

@@michaelfrymus - Not sure exactly what you are saying. I seldom change my notifications setting but I frequently change my volume settings. I mainly use my quick menu for that purpose because for me it is easier to flick two fingers that try and find and hold the button. If I wanted to change my notifications settings I could do two clicks starting with the settings button while listening to music and change my notifications as needed. That would mean your video would play PIP. You could also just say "open sound settings" and get the same result. Or you could just say "lower or raise notification settings" and that settings bar would pop up and even adjust the settings for you. You can set your assist to listen for commands or just click assist.

I wonder if some have already made a direct comparison with the Pixel 6...nobody talks about it....The speakers of the Pixel 7 are a real downgrade compared to the Pixel 6. sound is not that good. If you compare the P7 directly with the P6, it is immediately noticeable. I don't understand why the reviewers don't notice that. It absolutely lacks bass and warmth. It sounds like a toy. The P6 had a much better sound. I hope it's just a software issue. Otherwise the device is going back. It's a real shame...
