I wish to build one with two hydraulic lifts to have storage underneath but this diy has some good basic build techniques. Thanks for the measurements and lumber side, brackets etc. all helpful.

I would place the rails lower so you get a nice lip that keeps the mattress from sliding around.

I enjoyed this video. I have been search for a great DIY video that did a fine job of actually explaining how to make a bed and finally I FOUND ONE!!!! Nice build but I would put slats more in the middle of frame, seems too high for me. Mattress can easily slide off and looks awkward.

It was just standard 3/4 boards I get from Lowe’s or Home Depot. And for the time I had it. I didn’t notice any warping.

+Juss Jess thanks, you can definitely make it how you like. Can use plywood to make the sides taller or even a box spring will lift the mattress higher.

Patrick, not sure how to contact you but I'm looking for this same type of bed but 15 inches thick so my Cali King box spring and mattress can sit on it and it won't break in the middle with two grown folks sleeping on it.

My opinion the interval inner frame not strong enough. Okay for adults but whom who has kids will know that the small frame will brak once the kids start to jump around on the bed
