You made it look so simple cutting the mesh with the wood burning . I’m having a hard time cutting mine. What tip are you using and where did you get your poly burlap. Your wreath is gorgeous ❣️
@DIYDion Жыл бұрын
It's the angled tip. I think it's the basic tip most sets come with. Apply a little pressure but it shouldn't be too much to cut it. I don't use that cutting method much, so I don't have any little tips or tricks. The poly burlap was from Hobby Lobby. My mom and aunt still love hanging it out for Easter. Hello Dion, I made my cross wreath last night. One question, how do you keep the ends of the deco mesh from fraying so much? It was driving me crazy! 🤪😂
@DIYDion3 жыл бұрын
That, Gayle, is the question of the century!! Using the wood burner can help reduce fraying but I didn't think it was enough to offset the precautions necessary when using it. What type of mesh did you use? Deco mesh will fray like crazy, poly burlap a bit less. Dollar Tree mesh is the worst but deco mesh in general just frays. I just cut off as many stragglers as possible once complete and then just move on. There are ways to minimize seeing the raw edges like rolling the raw edges. This particular wreath doesn't allow rolling as an option so just accept it. I did one of these in deco mesh and choose to think of the fraying as added embellishment. LOL I would love to see a picture of it on my Facebook page... Dion Allen Designs facebook.com/dionallendesigns/

There’s not a JoAnns within 1.5 hours of me. Could you use the little rubber band pony tail holders instead? Also, some people say zip ties will break a Dollar Tree wreath. Have u ever had this problem?
@DIYDion2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa. Little rubber bands would work fine. I've seen the same ones I'm using at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. They are just little rubber bands, so whatever you can find will work. I haven't had the zip ties break a frame. I could see it happen if you pull too tight. It really comes down to personal preference. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

@DIYDion3 жыл бұрын
You're so sweet to worry about me getting sick from fumes. I usually do use a rotary cutter (like a pizza cutter) but I thought I would do something new to give it a try. I like trying new things on the videos to inspire those watching to try new things. If it doesn't work out, at least we have tried. I think pipe cleaners would be just fine to use. The zip ties are easier on the hands for some people. That's the beauty of crafting... what works for some may not for others and we can each figure what is best for us. I encourage you to try them both and see what works best for you. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
