I have the older version of babylock victory (imagine) for over 10yrs. I’m 100% satisfied. The air pump is really not a problem. I have brother sewing machines and waiting for a part over 6mos!

I'd love to see you do a review on single needle embroidery machine because most of us cannot (realistically) afford a multi-needle embroidery machine if we sew for joy😉

The stitch on the baby lock was so pretty and the machine is compact. That would be my choice.

I was very tempted by the victory when I was shopping for my serger but I went with your recommendation, (1034d)and I was very happy with it. The price difference was a lot between those two obviously but I have a little bit of an affection for brother I won’t lie. I am also a little offended by the dealers that act like they’re too good for brother. I am just a working class girl who wants respect lol. If I was shelling out for a newer fancier one , then I’d probably do what you did though and get the victory. But right now if I was going to be spending a whole heck of a lot of money, I’d probably be getting an embroidery and quilting machine that’s a lot more advanced than my basic sewing machine. I want to explore different avenues and I love my brother serger. I really appreciate your guidance that you give us on sewing machines and other equipment that is useful impractical, even if I don’t want to sew together eight layers of denim. It’s still a good test! I hope this year is going beautifully for you .

I just bought the baby lock acclaim, I love that it threads the loopers and the needles! I had ordered the 55 th anniversary edition but it came to me broken! So the company exchanged it for me! I also love the no adjusting for tension, as far as feet my dealer threw in a 6 pack of different feet! I was very thankful and grateful!

I have the older model baby lock eclipse and my mother has baby lock enlighten. We love both one has tension dials as well as air pump mechanical however the other has automatic tension control and an automated thread feeder (on the higher end price point). We both purchased our machines from local sewing machine store (been in business over 40 pluse years) gave us full tutorial and trainings on each machine. One thing you also may want to try in your testings is more on the delicate side of fabrics and run a tissue through each machine. The baby lock will surprise you on how delicate fabrics stay fully in tact. I can’t speak for the brother machine e however I do own a brother sewing machine (CS7205) in which I am very happy with and have had great success with. Hope this tip helps. Would love to see the results on the brother serger with a tissue. Love your tutorials and inspirations you give me. Look forward to your next video. Best of luck on your move. Cheers Nicole. OMG....The stitching on the baby lock, beautiful. Thank you so much for comparing all of these machines. I always have such a hard time deciding on what machine I want. I do have the brother 1034D, so it will be a while before I can get another serger. Right now I'm working on getting my juki. 😁🙃😊😊

Thank you for this review! I’ve got a Viking husky lock but I absolutely HATE when the lower looper breaks! I have to undo all the threads and start again… and being left handed with not perfect vision makes the job so hard. In fact 8 deliberately don’t change the threads to avoid the re-threading. Makes me think I should opt for one that threads itself!

Very interesting! If the price difference would be same here (Germany) I’d definitely choose the baby lock. But here it costs 1.450 Euro (Brother 800 Euro). That’s the only reason I have to pick brother and deal with the manual tension settings.

I'm a Brother fan, and I feel that you should select what is comfortable to you. I need to get a beginner serger before I get one lit these. I need to get out of my comfort zone. Which one should I get?
@BlueprintDIY10 ай бұрын
I have used the Brother 1034d for a long time but they are discontinuing it. I don’t really like any of their other sergers. I like the Juki MO series, but they are a little harder to thread in my opinion. I need to search for a new best beginner serger recommendation.
@brenholmes48944 ай бұрын
To be honest, I am not sold on either machine. I had considered the Brother; I like the push button air threading, but the manual tension lets it down. The Babylock wins on everything, apart from the manual needle threading and the less automatic air threading. So I will continue to search for my perfect overlocker and hope that I can afford it :-)

I’m getting the Bernette model this weekend. Stay tuned 😉
@creativitybycarilyn6634Ай бұрын
If I were choosing between these two sergers, I would go with the Babylock. I think the stitches were much nicer and not having to fuss with the tension is a big deal. I don't think I would layer more than 8 layers of denim and if I'm going that far, I think it needs to be an industrial. I'm wondering if you've checked out the Juki air thread machine. ??? TFS

I just use all purpose cone thread. It is very limp, but you can’t use thicker threads in a serger.

I have the victory. I dont like it. I dont think the auto tension is correct for me. open your seam. there's a big dif. the victory doesn't get the l needle tight enough and so u see that on seams. I had a 1034d for 10 yrs and loved it. had a celebrate and didnt like it. I have 5 other babylock machines I love but I just dont love their sergers. Just bought the brother. sorry not sorry. that auto tension is terrible.
