Have you thought of slipping a larger diameter taller PCV pipe over the top of that dangerous pipe? You could spray paint it really easily. This would offer protection from that sharp edge. You likely have a piece of pipe and some paint there. Golden mom here. They are the best.

IF YOU HAVE NOT TRIED FRIED CABBBAGE I RECCOMMEND IT, JUST A LITTLE OLIVE OIL AND COVER WITH A LID UNTIL IT COOKS DOWN. WHEN YOU CUT YOUR CABBAGES TRY CUTTING A CROSS IN THE THCK SHOOT EFT BEHIND AND YOU SHOULD GET LITTLE CABBAGES GROWING

Janey! With the wasabi arugula, you could blend it with a little water, olive oil and lemon to your taste then freeze it in icecube trays to store and cook with a little at a time, treating it like an herb or seasoning. Or you could make a kind of spicy arugula pesto to have over salad, rice, or pasta! Lmk if you try it xoxo

Monty! OMG you’re adorable!!! Who else thinks Janey should put a David Austin climbing rose over the first arch??? Janey, I watched the seed starting section three times because I thought you were planting the lettuce in an elaborate pattern. I finally realized it was the shadows from the arches. 😂 (I’m such a dork.) I think you need to go to the plant store and buy some flowers for the bees. It’s the neighborly thing to do. 😉

Yes, you should try sautéing that cabbage with some onions. Make sure to fill up the pot it cooks way down. It’s really good with a crockpot roast or throw some steaks on the grill. Please it’s super easy. I love those beds, thinking about buying some of those instead of making wood ones now 🤔😍

Hi Janey , if you had not put that the plant in the pipe that’s sticking up I would have said to you to put at least for now, place a planted pot in front or paint the pipe or paint the pipe a bright colour or put some ribbon or tape around it because you don’t want another fall whether it be you or someone else, especially visitors to your house, hired help, etc. who are not aware it’s there. Stay safe! ❤🇨🇦

Janey - since you’ve got a little space in the middle far right side of your Vego garden bed next to your office wall, you should plant a couple spring blooming annuals for the Bees 🐝 right there….

This makes me so excited to plant things!!! Back to the garden center for flowers for the bees! 🐝 those cabbage are beautiful. If you ever have issues with pests eating your cabbage or broccoli plant marigolds in your beds next to them and they help deter insects.

I have black eyed susans that have sown themselves in the cracks on the asphalt of my driveway and I leave them there and even encouraged them to spread. It is a glorious thing to find blooming surprises in your garden!

Ooh! I picked up some Nicotiana seed the other day. I'll have to add it randomly in my garden, especially if it grows so easily. I got the variety that has a fireworks look at the top of the tall plant. I'm curious why you didn't shake off the soil from your spent plants. That's such precious soil. 😃

I loved your opening, random photos, nice job! Fun planting, nicotiana. I know how you feel about the bees. I grew salvia by my patio last year, it was a bumblebee haven. I live in Michigan, left it in the ground way onto November until only a few bees were visiting a very tired plant.

If the nicotiana doesn’t work in the pot, maybe temporarily put a bottomless pot, add soil then nicotiana. 🌼🐝

Monty stole the show today :) he is so cute. Puppies always do silly things, it makes up for the naughty stuff they also do. My dogs are great, I taught them not to go into the garden, so if a ball or toy ends up in there they stop at the edge and look at me as if to say, ok Mom go get it for me. I am blessed with smart pups but when they were small it was a free for all. I put chopped spinach into everything, my lasagna, soups, pasta, quiche etc. You can't really even taste it and it's good for you.

I have 3 different kinds of Nicotiana seeds to plant this year one of them is the lime green. I also found the Fava Beans online and order two packages of those. They're in abundance online to purchase. Monty is beautiful.❤❤

I'm concerned about the safety hazard from the raised pipe, in addition to it having the jagged edge. Maybe more now with it obscured by the plant. I think it presents a danger to your family, kids and visitors. I'd worry about someone tripping and falling on it, getting impaled or injured by that edge. Sorry, worried g'ma but I'd prioritize getting it removed. The Vego garden beds and plants look wonderful though! We love planting salad greens that we can continue harvesting from. Really enjoying seeing everything you're doing on the property.

I’m not a dedicated veggie gardener at all, I literally have tomatoes going to waste and I ended up chucking my cabbage in the compost bin, so I grow my herbs and fruit trees amongst my flower beds. Would a reciprocating saw or grinder get that post out? I’m a klutz so I would still be worried about someone falling on the sharp pipe edge as I assume everyone is as clumsy as me tbh! Or maybe pop the base of a decorative birdhouse in there? The nicotiana is real pretty though…

Not a fan of freezay( sp?) lettuce either- don’t like the texture
