Team overcommit here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I think gardeners are generally some of the most optimistic, hope filled people-just look at the level at which we all start too many seeds and impulse buy at the garden centers every spring. 😆 So you say overcommit-I say hope filled! It will be beautiful! Happy gardening! 🌸

Ha! I was just going to comment the same thing. Since the outline of the front bed is more curved than straight, it seems that some freeform areas of the flower seedlings might look beautful.

Hose idea. Perhaps add a small 25 ft hose to your existing hose link hook up with a easy off hook up for watering behind the green house. Much less expensive then having a plumber come for a visit.lol

I was thinking the same thing! Either purchase a 25' extension hose or a 100' hose rather than hire a plumber!
@kkeenan536

I think the problem might be that the Hose Link hoses don’t have the regular fittings on the end. They come with HL brand sprayers & they don’t screw on the end ☹
@barbaramccann7944
@barbaramccann7944 6 ай бұрын
@@kkeenan536 Hoselink sells a 16’ leader hose. Perhaps that’s enough to move the hoselink to make it work more efficiently. Or, pull hoselink as far as it will go and use quick connect fitting with extension at the end, and then add sprayer to extension. Also, I’ve switched from their sprayer to my Dram sprayer..
@elkeerickson5300
@elkeerickson5300 6 ай бұрын
I was going to suggest the same. I use the 25' Zero-G with the Hoselink quick connects. The 25' hose is lightweight and can be carried around in a cart with other tools and connected up with other main hoses in different locations when needed. The 25' lightweight section is much easier to maneuver within a greenhouse or among areas with delicate plants.
@professormama
@professormama 6 ай бұрын
I have this problem in my backyard, too, with 82 feet not being enough reach. The Hoselink shutoff valve and quick connects make it super easy to connect to a 25-foot Water Right hose that I keep coiled up on a hook in the back garden. It's not as seamless as having a tap back there, but it's definitely cheaper, and no trenching needed!

Scatter seeds of zinnias with Sunflowers directly sown in that front area would be beautiful! I understand the want to have it organized, but at least curved rainbow lines would give the look of not being so formal, happy planting!😎🌼🌸🌼🌺😉🌸🌼🌺

❤❤Dear Janie, as I watched the “spying on the goats” videos, as you peeked through the fence with the camera and I saw all that beautiful, green, refreshing and cooling, grass, I was wishing you’d put a few areas in your yard that were less brown/grey dead material. No offense. I enjoy watching EVERYTHING you do. The big picture is lovely but if you aren’t planning on doing that for years then grassy green areas would give the eye a needed rest. So possibly the flowers in the center will help a little. I Love you and your channel. Be safe and well. ❤❤❤

I love that you are going to plant in the center island, but don’t just do rows! What about graduating the flowers from shortest to tallest around the perimeter of the island. I know light and all of that will affect the flowers growth, but it would be so cool to have the innermost row in taller sunflowers and create a hidden space in the middle of nothing but a bench or chair where you can go in sit down and be surrounded by plants.

Janey, I LOVE the fact that you are taking on a flower field, right in your own front yard. That's why you bought the property, right? You have the space to do it, so why not? I think I would group like flowers together in small circular groups vs. lines of flowers. It will create the feel you are going for and inspire that front garden for the future. Who knows, you may decide to add some winding paths in-between the flowers too!! Remember when Laura went into a barren field and started planting? If she can do it, so can you!! However you decide to do it, it will be beautiful. And congrats tot you for taking this on. That's what gardeners do. We plant the spaces we have to make them look beautiful! Can't wait to see it.

Awww,Jeffery, I bet he is loving it in there. I know you plan to replace the pergolas, you should look into the retractable canvas covers. You could have sun when you want and not when you don't. Where I live, there's thousands of farm acres in about a 10 mile radius, one farm plants probably 50 acres of sunflowers, part of that is cut into a maze. They also have over the yrs built a ginormous farm market there too. Your patch is going to be so lovely, they'll even face the house. I wish you would get a hat that the sun can not peek thru, my mom ended up with skin cancer from the pinholes, Dr warned her it's intensified thru those holes. LOL,...Jason knows you well 😊

Then there are the cosmos. geraniums, gomphrena, marigolds, and dahlias etc etc, talk about optomistic over commitment!! All jammed in to a somewhat established, always in flux and ever changing !/4 acre. For me, now more than ever with what is going on around the world and here at home it's my way of staying hopeful and distracted, to be immersed in the beauty and miracle of nature.

Hello. My name is Liz and I like to Overcommit! 🙋‍♀️ 😂 All kidding aside, what a great idea to use the front as a cut flower field. If you’re not ready for that phase of the master plan, why not use it for something else in the meantime? I think it’s brilliant! And kudos to Jason for going along with the plan. What a team player! Go Jason! ❤

Hi Janey, I was just catching up on videos. Everything looks so amazing. You guys have done so much already. One of thr videos you mentioned adding mulch over your concrete. I was thinking maybe try painting your floor design from your greenhouse. Using a paver to sketch out the design and paint it in. Just another suggestion to soften the look of concrete and add a little pizazz. I look forward to seeing what you do. Happy spring!

I can see Shea and Sadie selling bouquets 💐 from the flower field…college funds?! They did such a good job with the lemonade stand…I would love to see your signature pink supertunias edging the flower field…maybe you could get some from the Proven Winners event you are helping with….

You are so inspiring and your enthusiasm is so contagious! Love watching everyday and I am amazed at all of the progress you’ve made so far. May I make a suggestion about the Butane tank, we also have one, I’m thinking that a trellis around it and Bougainville planted around it. Bougainville love the sun, and once established requires lower water. They bloom constantly with bright deep pink flowers and there is also Jasmine. Love and Blessings. ❤
