If your head is a pain, do milkmaid braids and pin the bandana to the braids! It'll stay on all day.

Oh. Mygod. This does not work with a silkish, smooth fabric. Like, at all. Hahahahha, I'm going to dig up my cotton bandana and come back for a rematch :"D So, I have kind of a short and layered bob line, like a bit longer than halfway my neck. I can make the bun tho, but my fringe is too short for a roll (no victory for me awh), do you have an idea what to do when your hair is lacking long locks?
